4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Some sort-of still life drawings on: November 10, 2008 12:00:20 PM
The rendering on the wood in the last-but-one is beautiful *.* and the cardboard box, and man I wish I was that good with a pencil!
They work beautifully as a set as well - what sizes are they?
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Alphabet ATC PQR Swap ( CLOSED, send outs nov 14 ) on: November 03, 2008 10:41:11 AM

6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / tatty (but awesome!) hardback to travel sketchbook on: October 27, 2008 08:23:05 AM

I found this book (circa 1933) in a jumble sale last year, always intending to do something with the cover. Well, this week I finally ( Roll Eyes ) got an idea, so..

I used the original endpapers to line the covers, since they were way too cool to throw away.

Coptic stitch, 60 pages of sketchbook paper for detailing my travels (currently empty because...I haven't been anywhere since I made it XD)

now, to work out what to do with my <1960 'teach yourself swimming' books..!

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: mixed media jewelry or a little of this and that..... on: October 24, 2008 12:47:06 PM
That necklace is wonderful - looks like it's got a really interesting texture as well, I want to reach through my laptop and touch it!
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: I sublimate my rage... on: January 06, 2008 12:55:38 PM
ha ha, awesome. I agree with, well, everyone else, that a border seems kind of unnecessary if you're going to frame it.
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Hagrid(ish) Messnger Bag (image heavy) on: January 06, 2008 12:21:54 PM

The flap. I had a load of thin strips of really nice faux fur, wasn't sure what to do with them, and tadah! this was the result. The badge with the raven is a bottle cap super glued to an old pin badge I didn't want any more. Works pretty well, I think.

Interior - you can just about see the outside here, and I forgot to take any other shots of it. I'm very proud of that zip!

With a DVD for scale. The strap's a piece of webbing I sewed on last, which would be why it's a little messy.

Obligatory semi-action shot.

I love the different textures, it's all lovely and soft, but in different ways Cheesy On the other hand, sewing through layers of fur and really thick velvet at the top wasn't much fun ;.; Twas made it for the release of the 7th HP book, and only just found the photos again, so here it is. I mostly followed this tutorial but I bodged it in a few places, so don't think the flaws reflect her tut Wink
