This is beautiful!

If only I did not have multiple other unfinished projects!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Yet Another Babette Blanket on: January 28, 2010 09:04:38 AM
I love this blanket! I've been wanting to make an afghan for some time, but don't really like the uniformity of traditional granny square blankets. This is perfect!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / lining a crocheted hat? on: December 19, 2007 11:09:28 AM
I agreed to make one of my guy friends a hat for Christmas/his birthday, and I was totally cool with the idea because crocheted hats are easy cheesy. Then he says he wants it to be lined in fleece! ACK!

How would I go about making a lining for a hat? I don't really understand how I would know how much fabric to cut and what to sew together, though I think I can figure out how to tack it to the hat.

Thanks in advance!
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Felt Coasters on: November 28, 2007 02:49:58 PM
The other day I was totally stumped as to what to get (make) one of my friends for Christmas. I was the in the thrift store when it dawned on me...felt coasters for her new apartment!  I read a thread about making them a long while back, but couldn't find it, so I just improvised!

I cut five inch squares of felt and matched them together with a different color. I used pinking sheers, but you could use straight scissors if you'd like. Then I stitched in a square around the edges, and make a kind of loopy, zig-zag pattern in the middle of each of them. Kind of had to trim the edges at the end, but easy cheesy because felt doesn't unravel.

Squares to become coasters...

Coaster in action...

Thanks for looking!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: extra fabric **Added Pictures** on: November 22, 2007 04:25:51 PM
If she has a coffee table, you could make her a table runner. You could also make her coasters or something similar...
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Going to florida gift? on: March 08, 2007 08:45:31 PM
Yeah, maybe like a beach survival kit. Flip flops, suntan lotion, chick lit novel, and, ahem, Gator-ade, all in a bag you made yourself.
7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Old backpacks in varying condition on: March 08, 2007 08:42:54 PM
Not craft related at all, but if any of them are Jansport, you can probably return them and get a new one. Jansport used to have sort of a lifetime warranty. It didn't cover everything, but I got a new backpack out of it in high school...
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Shelves for free in 45 minutes! on: March 08, 2007 02:37:56 PM
How much do the shelves hold? I would be slightly nervous about putting too much weight on them...
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: blue sundress on: March 06, 2007 09:46:10 AM
that's a wonderful color! It reminds me of the ocean!

I was thinking too that a great accessory with the dress would maybe be a cool belt, or something like that!

That's gorgeous fabric (especially the fruit)! Where'd you find it?
