1  My apologies for yet another cake/treat stand {img heavy} in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by chicanapunk84 on: November 03, 2010 01:50:52 PM

But I couldn't help myself. I made two one for my mom and one for me...the tricky part is deciding who gets which one cause I love them both. I used epoxy glue, thrifted plates and candle stick holders. I came up just under 12 bucks.

This one came out a little wonky but I still love it.

Thanks for looking.

2  Deco Earbuds in Completed Projects by chicanapunk84 on: October 27, 2010 02:54:39 AM
Something in the jewelry dish isn't really jewelry, can you spot it?

I was inspired by this AWESOME blog I follow
http://violetlebeaux.com/2009/12/day-7-deco-headphones-tutorial/ She's a super cute blogger from down under but enough about my blog crush.

Here are mine.

As you can see my stud makes it kind of awkward for the earbud in my left ear

I just love how they sparkle

3  Yet another Scott P. Shirt. in Stenciling: Completed Projects by chicanapunk84 on: August 31, 2010 03:19:41 AM
I'm so happy to see so many Scott Pilgrim crafts on the boards! I love how my fellow craftsters have so much love for the same things I do!

Anyway here's mine. I used freezer paper and speedball fabric paint.

Some pics of the work in progress

This little guy was the hardest thing to cut out (but so worth it).

Thanks for looking

4  Purse jewelry in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by chicanapunk84 on: August 23, 2010 10:21:38 PM
I decided a few weeks ago that I needed a simple bag for those occasions where my off the wall purses are not appropriate. So I bought a simple black bag, maybe a little too simple. So I made my purse a necklace to jazz it up and a clip on bow. The best part is I can remove them when I need the bag to be simple again.

Action shots!

5  Deco nails(*update*) in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by chicanapunk84 on: August 18, 2010 12:53:19 AM
I redid them with tiny jewels instead of the beads and I like them much better...but I still think I need a gel overlay? to keep them on for longer than two days.

Sorry for my big head pics. Cheesy

I've already bitten off the beads and pearls and nail glue...bad habit, I do the same thing when I get my nails done. Which is why I stopped getting them done.

I think if I can find smaller letter beads I'll re try it...the beads I used were just so big and impractical I got annoyed the first day.

Can anyone recommend any products for the next time I try this?

6  Broken compact to deco compact..and other things in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by chicanapunk84 on: August 18, 2010 12:46:49 AM
Hope this is in the right place...I guess its a trinket.

So after watching Marie Antoinette the otherday I decided I wanted to encrust something with jewels and make it pretty.
I had a broken compact mirror that I wasn't ready to throw out so I glued the mirror back in...

Just look how ugly and scratched up it was

Then I took some pretty scrapbook paper and some all in one glue/sealer

Let it dry for a day or two...re coating a few times

Use some fake jewels and glue on in a random pattern.

Admire the ugly duck mirror that's now an elegant swan

Look at your tired self in it if you want...hmmm someone needs to get some sleep instead of crafting into the wee hours of the AM

I did my flash drive too but I used the wrong glue and must redo it already

7  First Loli-ish outfit for my first con! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by chicanapunk84 on: July 11, 2010 02:36:42 PM
In my fair city of San Antonio there is an annual Anime con that is in its third year...I have been wanting to go for the past two but never had the time off or money...this year I had both(and one of my fave bands the protomen were playing) and decided since it was my first con I would dress up. I had been wondering about what I would wear and I've been following the Lolita look for a long time but never had the balls or the money to wear the expensive dresses. So I made my first Lolita-ish type skirt. I used as circle skirt pattern and added in a high waist band, ruffles and a pettie coat. The shirt is just a store bought one but I did make the bow and cuffs.

Here is a close up of the cuffs and bow, and me being a ham. Roll Eyes

My badge, and yay I got a pic with one of the singers from the protomen!

Well I had so much fun at my first con that I'm already saving up for my next in November!

But does anyone have any comments or suggestions? I did get compliments on my outfit but no one really got the Lolita thing...one person said it was very retro as in 1950's and for that I do blame it on the fact that I wore my saddle shoes instead of maryjanes cause I didn't wanna walk around for six hours in heels.

8  Time isn't flying.... in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by chicanapunk84 on: June 27, 2010 10:29:40 PM
It's staying perched on my neck.  Cheesy That was lame I know but I couldn't help it. So this is my first attempt at steampunk jewelry and I may have gone a wee bit over the top with the gears. The bird is a shrinky dink I "weathered" with some gold and black paint and the gears are from an old clock that was no longer ticking. Hopes you like craftster. Q&C always welcomed and appreciated.

I have since cleaned up the stray "hairs" from the glue.

I la la love Dan Savage and his awesome sex positive, queer friendly, hilarious, and informative podcast. If you have never heard please to give it a listen http://podcasts.thestranger.com/savagelove/...anywho I wanted to make a shirt that let everyone know I'm GGG(good, giving, game). I used freezer paper and speedball fabric paint and an old shirt. Thanks to Kittykill for the inspiration, I saw this on a craftster quickie.
