1  Re: The Pringles Can Fill-Er-Up Challenge 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by lilfishyinbigblu on: January 26, 2007 08:03:47 AM
YAY I'm so glad you liked every thing!
I have a few more pictures Im gona post
I thought that the glow in the dark bracelets would be like wands going with the out side of the Pringles container  Grin

So here is a picture of the whole thing

This is an up-close of the headband and cell phone case, this is my newest obsession, and it is a good way to curb my tie collection

Three of the atcs are mine and three are by my mother who wanted to play along as well  Cheesy the three that are mine are the first atcs I have ever made, and they were a lot of fun, Im worried this could become an addiction! Im trying to decide if my drawing teacher would accept my home work in atc form haha anyways here is an up-close of them. Mine are the one on top left, and the two on the bottom left

Im so glad you liked every thing! I had so much fun with this swap!

2  First memory of fire" Sand Blasting and Hot molding in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by lilfishyinbigblu on: January 06, 2007 09:01:19 AM
My first assignment last semester in glass blowing was based on "my first memory of fire" and we needed to show it using shaped glass, since we hadnt yet started blowing. I have two first memories of fire, one was of sitting on my great aunts lap catching the smoke that came from her cigarette, and her telling me not to, my other was of trying to light my finger on fire during a preschool show of my class singing this little light of mine. Ok so I have always been a bit of a pyro, and I decided showing my teacher that on the first week of class was a bad idea. Also my great aunt recently died and she is my hero in life, she was the first woman in mass to join the marines and she later didnt follow the social norm either. So doing a piece on her seemed a good idea.
 This is the finished piece

And another shot

To make this I took a picture of her and used hot glue to go over the main lines such as around her face, her lips her eyes etcetera. Next I used it on the hair and to create the "Smoke", after this I sand blasted the whole thing, the hot glue left the lines I wanted. Then using oil sticks and oil pastels I "painted" the colours I wanted on it. I had also shaped my "Cigarette" sand blasted and painted that as well. Using UV glue I glued it on the bottom, and my final piece was done.

5  questions regarding a Brother Charger 651 in Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions by lilfishyinbigblu on: October 21, 2006 06:00:20 AM
so i picked up this beautiful old sewing machine at salvation army yesterday. and i was wondering if any one knows anything about it because it didn't come with directions. I an not a great seamstress, i mainly have been using my moms "old" but not this old machine, so i have a lot of questions as to the functions of it. Ive been searching on line and found how to thread it, but thats about it. it works pretty well, the Balance wheel doesn't turn very well I'm guessing it needs oil? my significant other said he would try and figure that part out later on today. Here is a picture of her

Here are my questions This little knob pops up, is it the reverse button? it not what is it?

does this knob change the tension? or size of stitches?

Next many levers and knobs, the top one on the left seems to change where the needle is? maybe its not supposed to do that?

if any one has any other usefull things i should know definitely tell me
Thank you all so much in advanced
