1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting sleeves in the round, why not? on: November 05, 2007 07:16:25 PM
So I have made a couple of sweaters now and something I have been wondering, how come sleeves aren't knit in the round?  Why are they knit flat and then seamed, which is a pain.  It seems like it would be easier and cleaner to knit in the round.  I am tempted to do this but before I do, do any of you experts know a reason not to?
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Kimino Needle roll for Newbie Swap on: August 20, 2006 10:12:28 AM
I made this needle roll for my partner, she liked Japanese themes and pink and green were her first and third favorite color.  This was the first time I ever used bias tape (the gold trim on the 'obi' belt on the outside and the pockets on the inside.)  Not as easy as I thought!  I feel in love with the color schem and I'm glad I got more material than I needed for this project!

It's hard to tell, but under the green ribbon used to tie the roll together is the blue ribbon with the gold bias tape at the edge.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Little Camera bag with Celtic Pattern on: July 12, 2006 09:10:21 PM
I made this little bag out of cotton crochet thread.  It was intended to be for my cell phone, but the dimensions worked better for my camera!

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Mosaic Tabletop, Celtic Pattern on: July 09, 2006 02:22:06 PM
I made this table top as a demo for a mosaic workshop I taught.  I haven't gotten around to grouting it yet though.  it's about 28 inches across.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Missy Felted Bag on: June 07, 2006 01:21:45 PM
I posted this message looking for a specific bag:https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=97597.0 and wouldn't you know it someone found the bag I was looking for!   I used the Missy Bag Pattern.

Here is what it looks like before felting:

And here it is after hand felting in the bathroom sink.

I didn't think to put something next to it for scale, but it felted (fulled?) very nicely.  I'm not sure if I like the straps so long, maybe I will shorten them.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Looking for two looped shoulder bag pattern on: May 25, 2006 09:11:08 PM
Hi, I saw someone with this knitted bag and I want one!  It is a shoulder bag with two loops, one long and one short, the long loop goes through the short loop.  I made an etch-a-sketch drawing of what it looks like.  Has anyone seen this and know of a pattern?  I could probably make one up, but you know, it's easier if someone else has  Tongue

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Little Doily on: May 12, 2006 08:50:57 PM
This is my first crochet project, I sould have picked something easier than working with a small needle and size 40 thread!  I think I should have used a larger needle as the stitches seemed scrunched.

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Tatted Snowflakes on: May 12, 2006 08:47:25 PM
I don't know what category this falls under, but I wanted to show you the difference a few months makes.  The first picture is of a snowflake I made around Christmas and the next pic is the same pattern I finished last week.  I taught myself from a book, so I'm sure my technique isn't, well, traditional.

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / The Rogue Hoodie on: May 12, 2006 08:27:11 PM
I made the Rogure Hoodie!  I wish I made it longer though, good thing I have an extra skein (Lamb's Pride, M-185  Aubergine)

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / I made a needle roll! on: December 07, 2005 06:37:25 PM
I've been meaning to make one of these for awhile.  I picked up a cotton blue striped shirt and a bright orange linen shirt from the thrift store and used the pattern from www.tostetoes.com/knittingroll.htm to put it together.  I don't have a sewing machine so I did it by hand.  The picture is not the greatest.
