2  Re: How or where do you store your embroidery supplies? in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by LuluB on: October 02, 2008 11:20:27 AM
Being kinda crazy, OCD about my organization, and working in a small space, I've got a place for everything and everything in it's place.

Patterns are kept in clear sleeves in a three ring binder.  Actually 2 one for my own designs, one for purchased patterns.  Then patterns are further divided by type (birds, robots, trees, etc. . .).

Hoops are kept in a hatbox.  I also keep things like stabilizer in there.

Needles are kept in their own pincushion.  Extras are kept in a needle box in the hoop box.

Floss. . . where here I've gone a bit mental. . . See?

It's all organized by color and number.

I've been told I need help, but then again I can always find what I'm looking for!

Check it out!

Hope you enjoy it!

So sometimes I become very single minded. . . see. . . I should have been working on items for my business but instead I made this:

it's felt and all hand stitched and hand painted because i'm crazy like that.  and it's kinda big, about 2 feet tall. . . not quite sure what to do with it just yet. . . currently it's being used as back support. . . thanks, doctor!

thanks for looking!

6  Re: Diaper Bag - Pocket Help? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by LuluB on: June 26, 2007 08:43:07 AM
are the pockets for the inside or the outside of the bag?  when i make diaper bags i don't do bottle pockets i do bottle bungees (for lack of a better word) on the inside.  you can kinda see it in the picture below.  i did 2 double elastic scrunchi type bands, sewed them parallel to each other and then sewed up the middle making the bottle holders.

you're doing an outside pocket i think your idea of a trapezoid shape would work splendidly!  you just need to make sure you gather the elastic top to match the bottom before sewing it onto the bag.

hope this makes sense.  it's so hard to put these kind of things into words!

8  Re: A easy booth setup that you can fly with for out of state shows? in Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs by LuluB on: March 10, 2007 07:38:23 AM
I bought some of those wire cubes that are often used in kids rooms(i got mine at walmart for like $15).  when you take them apart, they're flat.  I used them at my show in Austin and it worked great!

this is what I did at Stitch:

hey all!
i did this project for cutting edge a few months back.  they told me they wanted a japanese themed design on this nylon covered lantern and then let me sew away! there are some great shots of it in the magazine (and some even greater shots of my hands in the how-to section) but i wanted to share it with you guys too!

i'd love to hear about anyone undertaking this project and i''d love, love, love to see the final results!  if you do want to stitch this and have any questions, please feel free to pm me!

i did the fill in a split stitch and it looks stellar and has held up very well through many, many washings.
