and i am still knitting gifts. oh, it never does end.

Yep, I feel ya.

I have half a scarf done for my sister, just started a handbag for my girlfriend, and am working on a pair of wrist-warmers for my mom. None of which are anywhere near being done Smiley

I guess that's the knitters lot in life, Always working!

However I am just about done with a hockey stick cozy Smiley

Going from the face to the shaft was a great learning exp (talking hockey sticks here you pervs), write me for details if you want one for your BF or GF.

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Disturbing Knit Ads on: January 30, 2006 10:43:23 PM
Umm, I'm going out on a limb here but those ads, of the curvy girl, aren't designed for you. I think they're trying to catch the attention of guys who are scanning the pages. Yes I looked but the waist is so blown out and floppy, maybe they should have measured her hips a little better.

JEEZ, I noticed the hips first of course, but then I noticed the crappy fit of the suit? Damn you knitting and your addictive ways. I know what you're talking about and I don't even have the magazine in front of me. Sad

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: my first attempt at illusion knitting on: January 25, 2006 06:12:12 PM

Illusion Knitting? Why didn't anyone tell me?

Jeez, right when I'm ready to buckle down and work on a project something like this comes along. Why does that always happen? (is it the a.d.d. kicking in?)

Ok loads of questions:

1. By what magic is this phenomenon made possible?
2. Does it work under any circumstance, or only in small squares like potholders?
3. Is the internet lit up with patterns like these? (don't answer that either because I will be doing extensive google/research on this till I fall asleep tonight).
4. Is it possible to make two different images? One that is viewed from the bottom of the piece and one that is viewed from the top?
5. What mastermind came up with this?

I could go on but I shouldn't. I'll go ahead and work the pattern tonight and hopefully it will make sense once I'm done.

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / men that knit on: January 19, 2006 05:40:35 PM
Here's a funny thread on men that knit.

This is just me, and I came to this conclusion today. "Some men don't like knitting and label men that do as homosexuals because you can't win at knitting" .

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Learning How To Knit - HELP! on: January 17, 2006 07:15:24 PM

A hex upon the nameless. Try purl and know thy devil.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What was the verdict on "Sew Easy"? on: January 17, 2006 07:00:14 PM
I read a few of the responses to "Sew Easy"'s claimes. Did anything be come of it?
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: How long does it take you to knit a scarf? on: December 29, 2005 10:56:52 PM

I'm making a scarf for my sis. Using US15 sticks and knitting worsted weight yarn. So far tonight I've knit a 5' long piece, granted it's only ten stitches wide. I think a better question would be stitches per hour. That way it wouldn't matter what the size of yarn or the needle was. If this was already stated in a previous post sorry.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What music do you knit to? on: December 29, 2005 10:49:22 PM
But I usually listen to a number of different things as I knit:

Cat Stevens
Violent Femmes
Tilly and the Wall
Fruit Bats

Oh wow. I love Interpol, They're kind of like Joy Division 2.0. Their sound is so rich.

Ummmm, this is probably a dumb question, but what does "dh" stand for? I figure it has something to do with partner (boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, cat) I'm sure it's an acronym for something but I just can't figure it out.

Thanks in advance for making me feel stupid Smiley
