1  Which Came First, Chicken or Egg? in Knitting: Completed Projects by vixenmeowmeow on: November 14, 2008 08:39:32 PM
Mochimochi Land patterns are the best!
I made this little chicken egg for my friend's daughter for her 3rd b-day. It was knit, felted, then assembled. It turns inside out and was a fast, fun and super gratifying project.

2  Handspun scrap extravaganza blanket in Knitting: Completed Projects by vixenmeowmeow on: February 15, 2008 01:16:50 PM
Hey all! After about a year in the making I finally finished my handspun scrap blanket. It's comprised of, well, bits of (almost) all of the handspun yarn that I've ever made. It also includes all of the messy yarn I made when I was very first learning how to spin, so it's very sentimental.  Wink
It's knit in stockinette with a seed stitch border.
Thanks for checking it out!

6  Street art inspired wall mosaic *EDIT: Now with grout and hanging on my wall!* in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by vixenmeowmeow on: June 11, 2007 08:24:13 AM
***Scroll down for Update!***

Hi everyone! So I've been working on this mosaic for eons, and I finally got done yesterday! yay! It's not grouted yet, but I won't be doing that for awhile, so I thought I'd post this now...

Thanks for looking!
Phew! Grouting was a pain in the you know what! But, here it is, done and on my wall...

We found these awesome hooks at home depot that hold up to 200 pounds on drywall without even needing to find the stud! Yay! Anyway, if you wanna see the larger pics you can look on my Flickr page (it looks really cool big cause you can see the detail of the tiles better): http://flickr.com/photos/saintsandspinners/
Thanks for all the awesome compliments and everything. You guys rock.  Kiss

7  Rhiannon: a tribute to Stevie Nicks in Spinning: Completed Projects by vixenmeowmeow on: May 12, 2007 12:47:29 PM
So I'm not the biggest Stevie Nicks fan, but as I was spinning this up Stevie's feathers and gypsy-ness kept whispering to me on the wind. Tongue So, here's Rhiannon (the first of my "women in rock" yarns that I'm making.) They will be complete with a little charm-picture of the particular woman that can be pinned to the finished product (scarf, whatever)...
Merino, New Zealand Romney, sheep locks, plied with lavender thread.

...this is my first attempt at "art yarn"...I've been reading Diane Varney's "spinning designer yarns" book and just experimenting. Yay!
Thanks for checkin it out.

8  My first kool-aid hand dyed... in Spinning: Completed Projects by vixenmeowmeow on: April 23, 2007 04:14:55 PM
Hey ya'll. Here's some of my latest yarn, probably the last I'll spin on my Kromski cause I'm HOPING to get a Majacraft Suzie. Yay!
Anyway, I dyed the roving with kool-aid, and spun it up...I've only been spinning for 3 months, so this is my first dying attempt as well!
Sorry that the pics are crazy huge.

Dirty Pop:

And some baby camel that I got from the lady who taught me to spin (not dyed. all natural). She gave us lots of "exotic" roving to experiment with. It's the softest ever:

Thanks for taking a peek!

9  Eeep! First yarn and a new wheel! in Spinning: Completed Projects by vixenmeowmeow on: March 10, 2007 06:55:27 PM
So I put down my drop spindle and took up the wheel. And I'm much happier. Don't get me wrong, I like the drop spindle and everything, I just connect with a wheel better Smiley

Anywho...here is my first real yarn (it's merino and silk) that I've made on a wheel (this one was made on an Ashford traditional that I was renting).

And because I am SO excited, here is a pic of my brand spankin' new wheel I got just this afternoon, a Kromski Minstrel...

Cheesy happy spinning everyone! You guys all inspire me so much!

10  Funky ways to carry the rings? Ideas anyone? in Weddings and Bridal Showers by vixenmeowmeow on: February 22, 2007 05:38:49 PM
So I've been put in charge of making something for the ring bearer to use to carry the rings at a friends wedding. I don't wanna just do a typical pillow thing. But I was wondering if anyone had any cool ideas. Her colors are brown, pink, white, polka dots, kinda funky. So far the idea that I've had is to crochet a cupcake "box" that the rings will be in and they just have to take the lid off to get the rings out.
Kinda like this:

the inside "box" part is actually a yogurt container that you crochet around.

So, hit me with your funkiest ideas!  Cheesy
