1  Hawaiian Print Apron in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Eve L on: November 21, 2008 11:34:38 PM

This is from Easy Stitch 'n Save M5358 by McCall's. I shortened the hem, reduced the pocket size, and chopped a good foot from the width because the gathering looked ridiculous.

Don't mind the junk to the left.  I just moved, and the landlord needs to pick that stuff up.

2  From a book.. to a more different book! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Eve L on: December 02, 2005 08:56:49 PM
I've had one book sitting on my shelf for a few years that I didn't know what to do with.  I picked it up from a discount pile for $1, and while it wasn't atrocious literature, I don't really have a fondness for it, and didn't know what I should do with it.  I finally decided to just deconstruct it and make myself a nice little art journal.

The original book (the dustjacket is lovely)

The new cover, created over the original cover board. Decorative black sand + acrylic gel medium.

Exposed spine bound by  coptic stitch.  I folded the original pages in half to create new pages for the journal.
I like the texture the torn pages add.

I liked the dustcover so much, I used it for the interior cover.

Art entries!  Huzzah!
