2  Re: ACTIVE: Granny-A-Day for OCTOBER start:10/01 - 10/31 in Crochetalongs by deceptive.fragileness on: November 01, 2010 10:24:20 AM
Realized I never updated here.. I began joining pieces-- Deadline is Nov 11, so I'm behind =/

Mario's head- I started piecing together the next segment as well, but am doing it separately- his head is HUGE. This is on my queen sized bed.

Princess Peach's face. At this point, I am focusing on Mario. Peach will have to be added for Christmas instead; The background I haven't even begun on.

So I have 110 squares done at this point out of the 252 square goal for tomorrow. Maybe I'll get caught up =P. I have pretty photos to update though, so here they are =)

This is mario currently, as you can see I need to start working on his skin tone and more black, as well as some more red.

This is the heart that goes between Mario and Peach (see the grid in the corner of the last pic), it's about 1/3 of the way done.

This is all of it in my box =) As you can see I have some yarn, as well as the squares in here.

Totals for this week so far:

50/109 Squares

57/167 Squares

That's a grand total of 107/252 squares for the week. Hopefully I can catch up maybe... At least now that the squares are smaller, they work up quicker. This thing is going to be mammoth...

As of right now, these are my totals:

20 of 109 red squares completed, and 20 of 167 squares complete. At this point I should have 56 done total, so as you can tell I am 16 behind. Hopefully I can get caught up tonight/tomorrow. On the bright side, I got more red and black yarn today. So at least I have the stuff to get it together... And I think I might already have some of the skin colored yarn I need. I have to double check my stash, but I'd like to complete the red/black parts first. I put it all in a giant box today, and took a picture with my super crappy webcam camera. The red is a really bright fire engine red, which fits Mario well, but the lighting is bad, and it's 11 pm so I don't really care lol. Now, time to get back to crocheting!

I'm glad that you received my bracelets, CanadaChick91. I was concerned that none would make it since I didn't get the info about taping them to cards until too late.

I finally managed to upload the picture after an hour of muttering angrily at my husband's droid. Hopefully this time it really posts.

In order, they are from CanadaChick91, Teffy, and EnginerdLisa. I am wearing all but the one from Enginerd because my little girl stole it and is wearing it around her ankle now. She loves the beads. I love them all =) I look forward to getting the other half of them.

7  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by deceptive.fragileness on: April 02, 2010 11:23:32 AM
I haven't been in here in ages... But.. Last summer I made a poppet with the elanore pattern for my little girlie. At one point in time she had clothes and undies but alas, she has been greatly neglected by my child who doesn't like her as much as the original that she was the replacement for. The baby dolls seem to get all of the attention lately.. I've toyed with the idea of making her another regular poppet since I will probably be making the boy one, but I haven't decided for sure yet. Either way, both of my kiddos still need easter gifts! Oops..

*ahem* Her hair is two different colors as well (mainly because I.. erm.. ran out of the white) It took forever to make it- I used the crochet wig method. I am totally gonna try the fake fur wigs next..

8  just another T-Shirt Recon in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by deceptive.fragileness on: March 20, 2010 01:32:04 PM
Hubby gave me a comfy well worn in Tshirt that he is now too fat for. So.. I looked around, saw nothing I wanted, and came up with something on my own. All materials used came from the T-shirt except for the string I sewed it together with.. my machine is still packed up, so I hand-sewed this baby.

Man have I gotten behind.. only a few months and you guys already posted 100+ pages! This is a poppet I made a bit ago for a friend's son. As far as I know he's nameless... Said friend requested green with a mohawk, but no boy bits- her son's only 2 years old.

I was in the process of attempting a boobie poppet before I moved, and had problems with some of the seams, so I will be reattempting it once things are all settled from moving. I really find all of the wig attempts interesting- plan on trying it this time. Maybe I'll even venture to try eyelids...

Grats on all of the new gorgeous poppets!
