1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Collection: Poncho and a yarn tote on: January 23, 2006 09:15:01 AM
I've been busy the last few weeks:

I modified this knit pattern and used 7 yarns for this poncho:

And I converted a wine gift box into at yarn tote for a friend's birthday:

I'm making another where the top comes off (instead of it opening like a book) and the yarn will come out the top. I think that one will be more functional.

Thanks for looking Smiley
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / First Nested Basket from Hip to Crochet on: January 09, 2006 10:55:06 AM
I've only made one so far but I wanted to post this to see if I could get some ideas for how to fix a problem I'm having....
I'm using nylon thread/yarn for this.

My 2-year-old son thought it was a hat:

So you can see on the third picture where the "seam" stitch is going weird. Has anybody done this pattern or one like it so they can give advice on what to do here? I followed the pattern pretty closely until the last two colors, which is when I think things started to get normal. Any advice before I continue with the next basket? TIA!

ETA--maybe this should have gone in questions/discussion--but it IS a completed project....
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Scarf with two different yarns on: January 03, 2006 11:51:11 AM
I'm pretty new here, but wanted to post and show off my completed project!

I made this scarf for my SIL for Christmas. I used Lion Brand Fun Fur in Red and Red Heart Symphony in Juniper (though it looks like grey). I worked with both at the same time. I think I used the J hook but I don't remember now. I basically "freeformed" it (can you call it that w/ a scarf?) and accidentally made it too wide and then ran out of yarn to make it long, so I recommended she fold it in half.

Finally, I wrapped it around the DVD I was also giving her and tied at pretty recycled red ribbon on it.

Anyway, on to the pictures. Sorry they are a little blurry

Thanks for looking!
