1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Thrifted Floral Sheet Baby Dress on: April 10, 2007 12:01:22 PM
This dress was made using the same pattern as the pink patchwork one I made, I really am in love with this pattern right now.  I was worried the sheet would be too see-through, but the top facing and interfacing makes it just right.  (You can just barely make out the line in these photos.)

Button Detail:

I used 1" shell buttons again, I just think they're so pretty on little girl clothes.

Thanks for looking! Smiley
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Pink Patchwork Baby Dress on: April 09, 2007 02:58:44 PM
This is the first dress/jumper/romper I've made for my first baby girl, due in June.  Yay!!!  (I have boys.)  It was so simple, and I love it.  I already have fabric lined up for 3 or 4 more.

And detail of the buttons (I've finally mastered the buttonhole feature on my sewing machine!):

I used coral colored, 1" shell buttons.  I'm hoping they stand up to the washing machine (turned inside out, on the gentle cycle), because with 3 little kids, I don't do handwashing. Roll Eyes

Any and all comments/questions welcomed.

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / 2 Spring Sets + 2 Stragglers on: March 11, 2007 05:27:33 PM
I really love these.  The last cap is knit, but the fun stuff on the side is crocheted so I'm including here.  Thanks for having a look-see!

To pass the long, cold days of expectant motherhood productively...

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Baby It's Cold Outside, 2 Dragons, and A Princess on: February 20, 2007 08:40:03 AM
Here's a sweater I made using this pattern:

It was super easy, and quick, and I'm already planning to make more in different yarns.  (This one is Homespun.)

And some fairytale finger puppets taken from here:

Fun projects to pass the long, cold, winter days.  Smiley

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / 6 Flapper Inspired Cloches on: January 12, 2007 04:29:20 PM
I made these some time ago and just never got around to posting them.  They're all made on the fly, I work better without patterns.

(Insanely crappy lighting on this one.)

Thanks for looking!
7  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Super Easy, Super Cute Yo-Yo Button Flower Houseshoes on: January 12, 2007 03:54:00 PM
These are cheapie dollar store terrycloth houseshoes (like $3), the kind with the little bows on the front.

I took the bows off with a seam ripper and sewed on some little fabric yo-yo's.  (I made a smaller red one for the second shoe, but I like the way it looks with only one yo-yo.)

Lastly, I added a couple of plastic, shank style vintage buttons, and voila, super cute houseshoes!

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / What's purple, pink, green, has silver sequins, eyelet trim & beaded handles? on: November 09, 2006 03:08:31 PM
This bag!

I originally made this for a Red Cross Benefit Auction that never got off the ground.  Sad

Let's see...

The exterior is home decor. fabric, most likely from Joann's or the like.

The interior is a thrifted sheet.

The interior pocket is trimmed with silver sequin trim, it looks like a zipper, but it's not.

I interfaced the whole she-bang with pellon craft interfacing.

The handles are removable (Though I'm not sure why you'd ever remove them) plastic beads on silver hardware.

And the pink eyelet trim only goes across the top front of the bag, because that's all I had left.

Thanks for checking it out.  Smiley
9  UNITED STATES / Tennessee / In or around Morristown? (Between Knoxville and Johnson City) on: November 01, 2006 07:50:43 AM

I've been here 4 months now and have yet to meet any other crafty types.

Where are you?

There's a great coffee shop downtown just waiting for us to grace it with our knitting needles, witty banter, and what not...
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Hi-Fi Technicolor Dream Bag or Bag of a Hundred Different Motifs and Colors on: July 18, 2006 12:50:20 PM
I've been feeling more experimental lately.  Here's one of the results:

I'm really happy with it.  It has a simple circular velcro closure and the exterior strap and interior fabric are made from an old pillowcase I picked up while thrifting.  Hooray for repurposing!

Thanks for checking it out.  Smiley
