I LOVE Streetlight. soso much. They never play around here though Sad I'm surprised there's so many fans here, there's roughly two people I know who know who SM is...

But yeah, great job on the dress Cheesy Very cute!

Oohh, I *love* the checkered skirt. I have some leftover fabric from making a purse, I might try something like that tonight. The red/black/white one is niftiness too. Great jobs! Cheesy
524  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: sparkly dolled-up Chucks on: January 03, 2006 02:15:15 PM
Okay, so I decorated a couple pairs of Chucks for swap partners.  So why not post them together here?
These are Target Chuck-alikes:

These are actual Chucks:

I used a thick layer of paint on the toe covers and poured on clear microbeads.  They stuck really well, but I added a couple layers of polyurethane (because I was scaredy that they'd fall off).  Both pairs feature a single, long, painted squiggle.
And I don't wear anything this fabulous myself.    Wink

I *love* the knockoffs with the ankh design on them. That is what you were aiming for, correct? That's almost enough to make me want to get a cheap pair myself just to try that design. I'm assuming it's fabric paint? Was it freehand? (sorry if these are stupid questions, curious...also a little sick and kinda out of it Wink)

Great jobs on all the rest too Cheesy
525  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: come one! come all! post pics of your tattoos! on: November 28, 2005 04:48:16 PM
Oooh! I love tattoos! I'm only 17, but I plan on getting at least three or four when I'm legal to(and have the money). I really hope I can get them - I have a metal allergy, so I'll need to test for a reaction to the ink beforehand...I'll be *so* disappointed if I can't. Anyways, I want one with a scales/balance theme - one side of the scales being day(also fire and air), and the other side being night...I'm big on balance and I'm also a Libra so it has multiple meanings to me. Maybe with a pentacle worked in. Also, I have a symbol for my name that has a rune or two worked in(a very large chunk of my heritage is Danish or Scandinavian) and I might want that - though probably also just worked into the balance tat. I have NO idea where I would get this though. Possibly between the shoulder-blades...but this would be one I'd want to see. I'm running out of room to plan them in - I want a relatively large one across my lower back, of Isis with her wings spread and heiroglyphs around it. Then three other ones to represent Osiris, Set, and Nefertem...I was thinking the hips between the bones for Osiris and Set, but I don't know how badly that would stretch if I ever get pregnant. I want an Egyptian lotus for Nefertem, but haven't got anywhere farther than that, and I'm thinking of a crook and flail for Osiris...but that'd be awfully simple. No idea for Set. I might also want one to symbolize my love of music/art/writing and their importance to me...but I don't have any ideas for that either. I could always post sketches of the designs I've come up with so far, but that'd be boring compared to everyone's gorgeous tattoos Tongue

While on the topic, what's a good place to read information about tattoos? What places are most likely to stretch or information like that.

And I love everyone's tattoos! So pretty and creative! Awesome!!!

edit: I just saw this:

My brother is a tattoo artist and so most of my work has been done by him for free. but i have acquired many a friend from his work places, mostly hook me up for free. I have my back 3/4 of the way done, and both half sleeve arms. these pics i am showing now are my left chest and top of shoulder .i needed something to fill in the top part of my back in with my chest piece, so here is my magfly with polka dots that ties in my pond scene on my back with my flower chest piece[/img]

I know it's way late, but those are SO gorgeous! And for some reason, I'd never thought of a tattoo designed like that. That's awesome! Thanks for the new ideas Wink

526  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: "Newspaper" Duct Tape Messenger Bag on: November 25, 2005 06:59:07 PM
Hey...sorry for bumping the topic(I don't know how taboo that is here, new member)...but I had a few questions, possibly stupid ones  Tongue

a. What exactly is between the duck tape? I'm assuming newspaper from the title, but just making sure.
b. How sturdy is the bag? I'd like to make one big enough to carry everything in my purse currenlty plus a book or magazines or maybe even a textbook, but I don't know if it would be too flimsy. Maybe with thin posterboard between the tape?

Thanks Cheesy
