1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Turtles! - Baby blanket on: February 01, 2009 10:28:09 AM
that is so pretty Shocked, i love the turtles, great job!
is the pattern available?  Roll Eyes Grin
Thanks! The pattern is from a book I bought either at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. The title is: "Color Bright Creatures: 8 Awesome Animal Afghans
There are some pretty great patterns in that book.... There's a blanket with little lions on it that may have to be next on my to-do list.

I am sooooo happy to finally have this finished! This is one of those projects I started during some downtime, and then never got around to finishing. The friend I made this for had her baby a year and a half ago, and today I FINALLY finished assembling this blanket! I'm kind of in love with it.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Soprano Ukulele Case on: January 10, 2009 07:08:21 PM
BonEsInspired: No, I didn't use a pattern. I could post a tute, I suppose, when I make the new one, though. It was easier than I expected... basically I just traced around the uke to get the shape I needed, and gave myself a very generous seam allowance. I made the lining first to make sure it would fit, and then based the outside on that.

jukebox: I think that's exactly why it was going out of tune. But, I know how to fix it next time around, so we'll see if I can make it better!

Yes, I AM back from the dead! After a rather long hiatus, I am actually posting something new!

I have been playing ukulele now for a while, and my baby Stella needed a case. Soooo.... I used my novice sewing skills and created this:

Close-up on the detail:

The sad thing about this is that I don't use it... That red satin lining was a biiig mistake, as was putting a smaller zipper in the bottom instead of a larger one on the side. The gears in the headstock have already torn up the lining and every time I pull the uke from the bag, it becomes terribly out of tune.

But, I did think it was a pretty good first attempt, and I wanted to share it! If anyone has any tips on how to make the next one better, I'm all ears!
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Recipe Book Swap Gallery!!! on: March 13, 2007 06:24:31 AM
According to my records were just waiting on the following people to receive...

I've sent to Nikki.... twice. The first package got stuck in customs. I can only imagine the second one did, too.  Angry
This is my first experience sending anything to a different country. Is it always this much of a hassle?

And Nikki, I am so so sorry you're still waiting on something. I feel so bad!

Also, I went by the drop stitch a couple months ago, and it's no onger in business.  Sad

Thanks, NikkiSixx, for posting pictures. I finally found my camera the day you posted those.  Cheesy I can't wait to try out all the yummy Thai recipes!

The package I sent Nikki evidently got stopped in customs. I am thinking it will probably never see the light of day.  Sad But I sent out a NEW package yesterday, so hopefully it'll get there by week's end!

Oh yeah. Here's a recipe I got from NikkiSixx666. This one is fantastic because it sounds like there's no possible way it could be bad. And it's an original!

Kool-Aid Slush

1 package of your favorite Kool-Aid
Vodka (or your favorite alcohol.... I imagine tequila or rum would work nicely with this as well.)
a blender.

Make Kool-Aid according to directions, using only half the amount of water called for. Freeze in ice cube trays.
Blend Kool-Aid cubes with enough vodka to make a thick slush.

And my own addition to this recipe would be to not bother making any plans for the day, because this drink would put me out of commission. Grin

I just got a fantastic book from NikkiSixx666! I also got a box of Smarties. ^_^ I had to laugh, because one of the recipes she sent me was almost identical to one I sent her. Great minds, right?

I'll post pictures as soon as I track down my camera and feed it some new batteries.
