2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Before unveiling... on: June 21, 2006 11:52:39 AM
Before unveiling this new bracelet on ETSY,  I decided to keep it for myself.  Grin   I will be making more for my ETSY shop.  I am working on a paisley one next.   But I dont want to loose the clean look I have going.  Should I stick with what I've got?

3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Custom orders for IDs ... on: June 16, 2006 07:40:35 AM
My pet ID tags are becoming a hit. They are my best seller.  I have been getting several custom orders through ETSY and through people who see Ringo's tag.  (my dog)   I just updated my listing for my pet ID tags on my ETSY site to include picturee showing several samples of sizes and shapes availble.

Which would you prefer: Circle, Square, or heart?   Trying to figure out what the most popular design will be and focus my samples on it.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Ringo's New ID tag (UPDATED New Pics) on: March 23, 2006 06:22:29 AM
I made this ID tag for my dog Ringo.  It is a wooden tag I made then carved and painted for him.  It was hard to find anything that matched his green and orange leash and collar so I am now making custom pet ID tags. I am really happy with it.   Oh and I should have mentioned that the back is orange, hence why it matches his green and orange leash and collar.  And on the back is my phone number and adress in case he ever gets lost.

Here are some new tags I have made for friends (well... for their dogs actually)

5  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / How to Choose the Right Roving!?! on: December 16, 2005 11:14:45 AM
I don't think I've seen this topic posted yet.
What is the best type of wool for felting.  Best for beginners, best for wet felting etc.
Perhaps someone with a lot of felting know how could post a sticky with advice for choosing the correct Roving.  I know I don't know the difference between merino, coopworth, corriedale...

I sort of found a partial answer while surfing the web:

Wool for building foundation in U.K. : CHEVIOT, or any other coarse wool with long staple (length of hair).

Wool for outside covering in U.K.: English Blends 50's for dry needle-felted finish.      Merino 64's for delicate wet-felting finish to obtain a smooth effect.

For quick results, use 'Tops' (commercially combed wool prepared for spinning).

For Hair: Dyed wool 'locks', natural Blue-faced Leicester, or fancy yarns.

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Calling for Flurries, Snowflake Garland on: December 07, 2005 08:43:28 AM
I made these to hang on my fireplace mantle.  (and about 20 more snowflakes)  I just couldn't stop.

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / My first unveiling, COLORFUL! w/pics on: December 03, 2005 08:06:11 AM
These are wooden boxes and plaques that I have designed, woodburned and painted. I am getting ready to open an etsy shop, and there isn't much like this on there, so I'm not sure it will get much foot traffic. What do you think?

This a keepsake or jewelry box,  "Quilted Memory Box"

and the inside

This is a small trinket box, I made for my boyfriend.  I put "love Notes" as an inscription on the front, and occasionally leave little notes in there for him.
