1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / my first button up shirt! built by wendy sew u pattern on: May 03, 2007 11:54:02 AM
i just got a sewing machine not that long ago after i bought the built by wendy sew u book.  this is the shirt from the book. i modified it a little bit by shortening the sleeves and using an elastic cuff instead of the cuff that came with the pattern as was suggested by the book. i also didn't use the top collar part so that i would have a mandarin collar instead. this was only my second sewing project. my first was the skirt from the book.

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / buttons and earflaps! on: February 27, 2006 08:34:02 AM
i actually made this hat over winter break back in january but never got around to posting the finished results. sorry for the poor quality photo but i only have a camera phone right now. i might try to post more pictures later. i made up my own pattern. it's just a basic hat and then i crocheted ear flaps and put button holes on them. then i sewed on some buttons so they were able to be buttoned up or unbuttoned. i hope you like it!

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / crocheted earrings on: February 28, 2005 04:02:10 PM
so this is my first post of one of my projects so i'm pretty nervous. i've been crocheting for almost 2 years now (my mom taught me how to crochet over a winter break from school) but just tried using wire today. i added some beads and came up with these earrings. i know they are nothing special but i like them. hopefully after some more practice with the wire i can keep my guage easier and make even better things!

4  New York / New York: NYC and Long Island / fibers/textile design info on: February 02, 2005 01:28:30 PM
i know that this isn't directly craft related but i figured it was worth a shot. right now i go to school in nyc (pratt institute) for sculpture but lately i've been wanting to transfer into a fibers/textiles program. my school does not offer a major in this area so i was wondering if anyone knew of any good schools that did in the area since i'm not really too into the idea of moving. i've already looked into FIT but wanted to look at other options also. thanks in advance to anyone who responds!
