here's my attempt.

3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Post Photos of Your Tattoos! on: January 22, 2008 12:03:40 AM
i love looking at this thread so finally thought i would post pictures of my own tattoos. the color one is the most recent. it was a xmas present from my mom!

newest tattoo. a fruit bat eating a mango. this is actually an illustration from a children's book.

simple heart outline on my wrist. my first tattoo ever.

this picture is from a couple of years ago but the best one i have of my other bat tattoo. from the same children's book as the one above. it's a mother bat in flight with her baby clinging to her chest.

more to come!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: my first button up shirt! built by wendy sew u pattern on: May 03, 2007 05:36:56 PM
thanks for the nice comments, everyone! it was really fun to make and i'm glad people like it.

skoo, i thought it was fairly easy. i kind of messed up on the cuffs at first and had to rip one out but other than that i didn't have any major problems and i just started sewing like 3 weeks ago. i would recommend just reading over the instructions a couple of times. that's how i messed up the cuffs. i didn't look ahead. luckily i was able to save them.

also, good luck on your first shirt, mandy!
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / my first button up shirt! built by wendy sew u pattern on: May 03, 2007 11:54:02 AM
i just got a sewing machine not that long ago after i bought the built by wendy sew u book.  this is the shirt from the book. i modified it a little bit by shortening the sleeves and using an elastic cuff instead of the cuff that came with the pattern as was suggested by the book. i also didn't use the top collar part so that i would have a mandarin collar instead. this was only my second sewing project. my first was the skirt from the book.

i used this fabric:
