1  50's Happy Housewife in Needlework: Completed Projects by abbeychristine on: October 06, 2005 08:15:35 AM
I made this for my roomate's birthday over the summer. I used an image from clip-art.com as inspiration, then sketched it on. The fabric had some stretch to it, so when it got a little wonky when I took it out of the hoop, but overall I really like her!

Here's the wicked cool stuff I got from mega(k)nits yesterday, including stationary, ephemera for cardmaking, envelopes, sequins, postcards, Queen of England paper, a gorgeous tie-dye scarf and scarf belt, handmade cards, teeny tiny brads, etc etc etc:

3  Look Familiar? Craftster kids! Update: With Pictures! in Craftster Itself by abbeychristine on: October 03, 2005 10:23:04 AM
I was perusing Savers yesterday and came upon an adorable book called "Things to Make and Do"with lots of fun 70's craft projects and cute illustrations. So I'm flipping through and come upon a very familiar looking girl with glasses cutting some paper. And then another picture of a cute little cork guy, and another of a girl hanging a picture, etc etc and I realized I'd found the book where all the craftster logo pictures came from. How random!

4  Sea Change bag in Stenciling: Completed Projects by abbeychristine on: September 26, 2005 09:22:02 AM
Beck bag I made for my roomate. She carried it around at work for over a week and the only person to recognize him was a middle-aged man at the library.

5  Owl bag in Stenciling: Completed Projects by abbeychristine on: September 03, 2005 09:55:34 AM
My new purse!

this is the image:

and this is what the bag looks like:

(it's actually nicer looking than this photo would have you believe)

i dont have a digital camera, so i had to scan the owl to post it, hence the two pictures, but i think you can get a sense of it. i love it, but making the yellow look good was a pain, it took 4 coats!

6  Old White Guys in Suits in Stenciling: Completed Projects by abbeychristine on: August 19, 2005 08:29:36 AM
I finally completed the piece de resistance for my living room, the Presidental Screen. We had a green theme going in the room, and then sorta fell into a small presidential theme as well, so I decided to combine the two, and this is the result:

I included all the "funny" presidents that I could think of, but just couldn't bring myself to stencil someone as boring as, say, Gerald Ford, so I decided to compromise and include the Prince and the King Smiley
