Aw, Dair, that sucks!

I'm about 4" into mine.  I love the stitch pattern!

Yeah, I think I'd make it just a bit longer so that I could do the bare-leg-boots thing it I felt like it.

Good idea, Dair! I think I too will cast-on with the cable method; I used long-tail in my swatch and it is just too tight.  Even though I have a million other things to do tonight; it's my birthday, I can cast-on if I want to!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: The Science of Sleep knitted aran dress?!??!?! on: February 14, 2007 08:25:39 AM
I think it would be pretty easy to recreate; BUT I'd say it has to be done with really fine yarn, like fingering or sport weight to avoid the bulk of a traditional Aran.  Check out a stitch dictionary for some great cable-panel  ideas.

I loved that dress, too, and am tempted to dare to wear somehting so short!!!

Squeakyweasels; what size did you intend to make?  Did it turn out true to size?

I want to knit this but an VERY worried about the sizing issues.  Wah!

I didn't get gauge with Gloss and 3mms either; my swatch was about 3x3.  I think I'll stitck with it though, and block to fit (or not).  I want it to turn out snug so I'd rather be on the too small side!
Dreading and anticipating the cast-on at the same time...

dair--looks great!

I can't wait to get started on this sweater.  I fell in love the second I saw it. I just received my knit picks Gloss yesterday (I ordered Dusk, and it is a gorgeous blue, even betten than I expected!) and it is super soft.  Once I get the yarn balled this weekend I'll be doing my gague swatch.  This will be my tv/movie/reading sweater(thank god for knits-in-the-round) because I need a project I can do without looking every two seconds. Squee!

I LOVE fresh tomatoes, baby spinach, water chestnuts, and alfalfa sprouts!!! Sounds weird, but it is sooooooo good; I'm starting to crave it right now!
Also, if you're making your own crust, sub about 1/4c of white wine for 1/4c of the water.
9  UNITED STATES / Colorado / Loveland Thrifting/SNB on: February 05, 2007 01:47:31 PM
Hi!  Wink A while back, I was looking for a group around Westminster; now I'd love any info on a Stitch n' Bitch in Loveland (or if anyone out there wants to start one).

And; I just have to report that the thrifting up here is top notch; there are several shops downtown within a few blocks of each other (my fave being Find on 287 N).  PM me if you need any deets!

Whoah! Randomly visiting Craftster today and this is back up there! Well, I'll have to look for the chart when I get home today- and if I don't have it any more, I can recreate it from the hat.  Thanks guys!
