11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Look at I made over the weekend. on: October 16, 2006 08:30:50 AM
I made these in order to hide my Seabands and the office gets cold with my boss's A/C on.

12  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Be careful with the Secret Deordorants and your knitted sweaters/tops on: September 20, 2006 11:10:40 AM
I just noticed yesterday that if it gets on the knitted item, the yarn becomes discolored. I know that it happened before with one of my regualr T-shirts but I forgot when I wore my Orangina. Now I have knit another one, which is not a bad thing in itself, just tiresome.

So please be careful with type of Secret deordorants.
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Cool knitting moment on: September 18, 2006 07:59:49 AM
Hi. I had a very cool knitting moment yesterday at NYC Knit Out.  I was wearing my Orangina because I felt it was an appropriate place to show off my work. I walk to the Point booth and the the editor of Knitty, Amy R. Singer, took a picture of me wearing the Orangina.

I want to ask everyone, what is  your cool knitiing moment.
14  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby raglan sweater*** Update*** on: August 21, 2006 07:03:06 AM
I just finished and blocked this beauty last night.  It's a gift for my best friend's niece.  I still have some yarn left over so I'm going to include a hat in the gift.  I tried to knit the SNB baby tattoo but it came out a mess. So I decided to do a raglan-type sweater and it was a total breeze.  I hope you like it.

PS. I'm sorry for the crummy looking picture.  It's from my cellphone....

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitter's Hands on: May 16, 2006 08:57:58 AM
I don't know if I'm the only one who goes through this but when I'm knitting my thumb and forefinger start to crack. On Sunday, my MIL gave me this cream called No-Crack Hand Cream.  Two days later, my hands look smoother and softer than ever and the cracks on my finger are almost gone.  She bought from Restoration Hardware in Chelsea, NYC, where she works part-time.  The store also has a website if anyone is interested. It's $15 for a 16oz jar. http://www.restorationhardware.com/rh/catalog/product/product_suite.jsp?productId=prod1102006&navAction=jump

16  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / warning when buying used knitting needles from Ebay on: April 03, 2006 11:29:50 AM
I didn't realized it until it was way too late. I had bought double pointed needles from a seller on Ebay and didn't used them until this past week for the sleeves of my Salina sweater.  Yesterday while at the laundermat, I noticed that one of the needles was smaller in gauge than the others.  By that time, I had already finished a sleeve and was starting the other. Please check your needles once you get them from the sellers.  I have to settle with my mistake cause the sleeve came out nice and I want to finish my sweater.
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Need help with Salina Pattern on: March 20, 2006 06:58:36 AM
Hi. I'm knitting the Salina pattern from Rowan's Vintage knits and I'm stuck on the shaping part of the armhole.  it goes like this: "Dec 1 st at each side of the 3 (3, 5, 5, 7) rows (that part I'm finished with)then on foll 2 (3,3,4,4) alt rows, then on every foll 4th row until 75 (77, 79, 81, 83) sts rem."   Doesn't the last two decreases are the same thing in one?  I have to knit the XL so wouldn't be the every 4th rows decrease on both sides until I have 83 sts remaining?
18  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / FO: Trumpet Sweater on: January 19, 2006 06:38:53 AM
Finally I am done with this sweater.   I have mixed feelings about this sweater.  I love it while at the same time, I know it could have been better with a different yarn gauge.

19  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My Ponchos on: January 13, 2006 07:00:00 AM
I finally had a "mommy" moment to post pictures of my knitting.  I've done baby blankets but I forgot to take pictures of them when I finished.

This is my first attempt on a poncho but I didnb't realize that I seamed it wrong I gave it to the person I made it for. Of course, I went back and fixed it.

This one I made for myself. It's really warm because I used two strands while knitting.

I really love this one because I learned two different stitch patterns while knitting. I also made this one in red which I gave my twin sister as a gift.
