1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / HELP! PLease tell me what to call this dress! on: February 02, 2008 05:04:11 AM
Ok, forgive my obviously lacking skills in paint.  But I've searched high and low for this dress, not necessarily the pattern because the dress itself seems easy to "wing it" but...I need a name...Please!

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Wristlet bender on: March 07, 2007 10:25:22 AM
So I've been on a wristlet bender as of late...and so made these three for no reason at all...
I got this fabric from a resale sidewalk fair on the Upper East Side for like 50 cents towards the evening...I scored some other great textiles as well..

When I started quilting I was so addicted to reproduction 1930's fabrics that I ordered a TON of fabric and squares that I just "collected" so this was my lame attempt at making a dent in my stash...(Modeled by my son in his sleeper)

This one is just a quickie for my daughter who demanded one for her little knick knacks.
again modeled by my son...who (you can't see it) is saying cheese and grinning from ear to ear!

Thanks for looking
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Little embroidered pouch... on: February 23, 2007 11:14:43 AM
I posted this in the bag forum and I guess my bag making skills are sub par....because I got no feedback...

Maybe in this forum...?  The embroidery on the front was inspired by a cherry blossom bag I saw a few months ago on craftster...

Soo feed back?  Please?

The front!

The back, portion of a line from my favourite Edith Piaf song.

And pink scrap interior.
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Embroidered make-up pouch on: February 20, 2007 07:27:03 PM
My first love is embroidery...and as of late I've combined it with my growing love of bag/pouch making...

Here's something I made for my sister in law...be gentle...I'm still new to the bag making thing....

The front!

The back, portion of a line from my favourite Edith Piaf song.

And pink scrap interior.
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Attaching wooden handles? on: February 08, 2007 08:35:52 AM

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Embroidery in Manhattan? on: December 26, 2006 12:48:52 PM
So um, any one here know any good stores where I could go pick up some supplies?  I'm at my Mum's place and would rather not trek down to the Garment district to get stuff to craft...Anyone know places uptown?
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Giftbag question! on: December 25, 2006 12:59:13 PM
Ok, so my daughter's birthday is coming up in February.  We're having mostly our friends and their children over, most are girls (the kids) my daughter's age so making cute little totes to hold their party supplies will be easy.

However, there will be two boys there...and I have no idea what to do for the boys.  I mean, the contents of the giftbags will be the same, I'm just wondering about the giftbag itself.  How do I make a gift bag for a boy so that he won't go..."Ew...its a purse...it's for girls!"  Car Applique?  Sports theme embroidery?  Help.
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Interfacing? on: December 20, 2006 04:41:56 AM
What kind of interfacing do you guys favor?  I bought some peltex and it seems like I went way too heavyduty.  Just want to make some not so slouchy bags and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction!
9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / First post not first quilt on: August 22, 2006 11:41:48 AM
I'm a long time lurker on this forum...this is my first post.

A quilt I completed today... for one of my friends for her baby shower.

The front is pretty simple...reproduction fabrics...

Cotton batting and flannel froggie backing.

I quilted in the ditch and quilted stars on the white fields....sort of difficult to see but....
