11  Help Marilyn!!! in Needlework: Completed Projects by boleyn on: April 29, 2005 07:27:08 PM
So I've been working on this embroidery for at least four months. I stitch a tiny bit, and then I put it down for ages. I cannot seem to finish her, or even just work on her for any decent length. Does anybody have any tips or encouragement to offer? I don't want her to languish any longer!!

12  Marilyn and an Apple in Needlework: Completed Projects by boleyn on: January 26, 2005 09:14:03 AM
Needlepointing has become my new hobby (obsession) recently, and I just finished these two canvases. The Marilyn Monroe one I got off of Ebay for about $10. The apple was purchased from a local needlepoint store. It has another canvas that goes with it, that shows the inside of the apple, and I'll post it as soon as I finish it. Enjoy!

13  Just a humble tea towel... in Needlework: Completed Projects by boleyn on: December 01, 2004 09:24:22 PM
I was bored one evening, and tired of my more intricate embroidery-in-progress, so I busted out my brand spankin' new Jenny Hart Stitch It knit and made myself a tea towel. Inspired by her adorabled make-up transfers, I decided to quote the fabulous Dolly Parton (in Steel Magnolias) with the phrase, "There is no such thing as natural beauty!" Sorry the photo isn't great; I had a hard time getting all the colors to show up. It's much more vibrant in person!

14  Happy Stars Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by boleyn on: December 01, 2004 09:17:24 PM
I finished this quilt several months ago, but I've been lazy about posting it. I call it my Happy Stars quilt, because the color combo makes me smile every time I look at it. It's mainly quilted in red thread in a loose stipple pattern, but the white around the stars is quilted in white in a paisely pattern. Sorry, I couldn't get a decent photo of the quilting. The stars themselves are not quilted, because I wanted them to be a little puffy. I'm very pleased with how it turned out!!

15  Birds in the Air Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by boleyn on: November 08, 2004 01:22:04 PM
My mom made this as a wedding present for my cousin and his wife. She wanted a bright quilt with primary colors, and that's definitely what she got! The pattern is Birds in the Air. It's quilted in red thread, so you can see how pretty the quilting is on the ivory backing. Enjoy!

I wish I could take credit for this, but my mom made it for me. Isn't it pretty?

17  I know swallows aren't pink, but... in Needlework: Completed Projects by boleyn on: October 17, 2004 04:47:40 PM
I saw a really cute pillow with a swallow embroidered on it in the Urban Outfitters catalog, but I wasn't crazy about the color. So I made my own! I know swallows don't come in pink, but in my imagination they do!!!
