11  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: EnTIES - Stitched ties for Entice. on: May 30, 2007 08:14:13 AM
Great job! I am always so scared to embroider on a tie-was it easy?

kittykill, I used a really small hoop (3 in.?) and opened up the back of the tie, which helped. Honestly, the hardest part was seeing the pattern I had ironed on, especially with the black/silver tie.

thanks for the positive comments everybody!

. . . Do you mind sharing how you made the little holes in your design?  I'm assuming it wasn't done with an exacto knife.  Perhaps an awl?

I bought an adjustable leather punch tool from Michaels.  I tried another pair using a sort of paper hole puncher awl thing-ie, but it was a MAJOR pain. . so I definitely recommend the leather punch.

14  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / EnTIES - Stitched ties for Entice. on: April 28, 2007 06:19:39 PM

I made these two for My favorite members of the band Entice -
Check 'em out!  ENTICE

I used Rock n' Roll patterns and a transferred image of their logo.  I had to take apart the back stitches of the ties, and sew it back together, which was more of a pain than I intended. . but overall, I'm satisfied.

Whatd'ya think?

I finally got around to getting my pics up! I had to put them on myspace cause they're too big. I had to cut down the back on mine cause apparently I have big feet. But I love them! I'm gonna line the cut out with some fabric and maybe add a button so they look like real mary janes.

They are truly awesome!!  I LOVE THEM!  I'm in awe.
