1  Spirited Away stencil on record + Goonies paper stencil + tips and trickz in Stenciling: Completed Projects by bclikesyou on: December 19, 2007 09:31:09 PM

It's been a while.  But it's also gift-giving season and I decided to make all my gifts this year.  Here are my two stencil'd gifts.

First - A simple two-layer stencil of a Goonies image I found online.  Done on paper with acrylic paint and freezer paper.  Friend loved it and had never heard of stencilry.

Catch up, Data.

Second - A scene from "Spirited Away".  This is 3-layers on vinyl (Olivia Newton-John).  This was my second experience with spray-paint and also with vinyl.  It was my first experience with spray adhesive.  I'm pleased with how it came out but it could've been better.  I also used sharpie on the soot-balls.

Sorry about the blurrrrrr.

I think the grey was enamel based.  Lesson learned.

Tips/tricks/secret codez
-I used manila folders for my stencils.  They worked very well.
-Spray adhesive is wonderful.  But it's friggin' deadly.  Use it outside.  Also: let it dry on the stencil for 2-3 minutes until it's tacky, not wet.  Then slap it on whatever.  Do this too soon and it will leave residue on whatever you put it on.  Or it will rip the paint off.
-Let each layer dry 1+ hour.  Bake apple crisp while you do this.  It's delicious.

That's it!
Enjoy the holidays dudez.

i took the dinosaur from stencilry.org.
everything else i designed on my own.
i'm somewhat pleased with how this turned out.
the dinosaur came out a bit messy and i put him
a bit higher than i should've, but oh well.
could i get some feedback on that? thanks.

7  leaping houses + arrows stencil design - need criticism in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by bclikesyou on: March 30, 2006 12:37:39 PM

so that's the design i'm working on for a friend.
it's going on a shirt. on the lower right or left portion of the shirt
and it will sort of wrap around.
there will be arrows on the opposite side as well.
but i still feel like it's missing something.

ps. i wanted to personify the houses.
that's why they're jumping and cussing.
and if the picture doesn't work

8  a simple three-layer stencil for a girl in Stenciling: Completed Projects by bclikesyou on: December 18, 2005 06:29:21 PM
she likes zelda, so you know.

background is a wash.

i need to get rid of those guidelines.
i do believe i'm leaving the rest blank.
i'm afraid of messing it up aesthetically if i put anything elsewhere.

i did this with acrylic paint, freezer paper, and an iron.  freezer paper works well on paper too.  doesn't tear or anything.  i'll answer any other questions as well.
