1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Eureka swap (Calling all sci-fi lovers) on: October 15, 2006 10:16:24 AM
Eureka is Sci-fi channel's new original series... AMAZING. I'm just looking to see if there are any other fans out there that would be interested in doing a Eureka themed swap... which I envision as a Geek Pride swap with direction (he he)... so let me know if you would be interested. I'm up for organizing... I'm thinking a low commitment swap (since it's close to the holidays) like one or two items. Yipee! I hope there are some other fans out there... if you have no idea what I'm talking about you should check it out for sure! I know that episodes are available on iTunes...
okay done rambling...
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / A mod get well soon present on: September 07, 2006 07:34:58 PM
So one of my best friends is in the hospital (she has crohns) for what looks like at least a week and I am trying to think of something to make her to cheer her up a bit (cause you know being in the hospital is not much fun). But I really also want it to be functional so she can use it always too...
She is 15, likes turquoise and bright green, and mod-ish things, oh and doesn't wear/like jewelry...
So if you have any ideas...
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Super sweet squirt gun lamp on: May 02, 2006 11:28:48 AM
So I got this idea a while back in ReadyMade and around Christmas time I got a lamp kit on sale at Hobby Lobby... soo when I found out that my partener in the crafty Detective swap liked gun themed things I sprung on the oppertunity to make this lamp! I used the lamp kit, two cheap toy squirt guns, a wooden dowel and wooden square, and tons of hot glue and spray paint!

I hollowed the guns out with my dad's drill and cracked them open down one side to run the dowel and cord through... then super glued them and clamped them until they dried...
I wanted to stencil a sweet gun shade so I bought a plain white one at Wal-mart and attempted my first spray paint stencil... it came out a bit blury... anyway here it is; the finished lamp!

I almost kept it for myself, but alas! I'll just have to make another one!!
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / My New ACB shirt! on: March 21, 2006 09:29:51 PM
So As Cities Burn is one of my all time favorite bands and last time they came I bought a shirt that was too big... and they didn't have a shirt for my favorite song anyway SO I made my own..

it says "well its yours. you can have it if it means that much to you"
The Gold was supposed to be a purpleish color but it came out gold?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / That Darn Dress on: January 11, 2006 04:55:28 PM
So I did the silliest thing possible and told my friend I would help her make a Homecoming dress, only to end up making it all by myself with only crudely constucted measurements.  But we got all the funny details worked out and I think it turned out pretty well except maybe being a little bit short on her. She actually wore it to two different homecomings so at least it got used... ugg but I learned my lesson about just saying "no"... Roll Eyes
Here are the pictures... please excuse my disgruntled expressions... that dress was the bane of my existance!

and the back with TWENTY buttonholes for the lacing

Let me know what you think!

I made these purses out of bandanas for the middle school girls I teach in my small group at church... I figured out that they only cost about $2 USD to make... and they are super easy! COnsequestly all the girls in my small group have "S" names thats why they all have S patched on them!

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Checkerboard duct tape belt (Pic heavy) on: November 29, 2005 12:00:41 PM
I've been making duct tape stuff for a long time, but these belts are my favorite thing to make. And all my friends are puunk or emo so they are usually a pretty popular gift item Grin . I just use plain military slide buckles, which make them OSFM. I have sold them on eBay in the past, but durring the school year time just doesn't permit... anyway I hope you like it!

A close up...

Modeled on my handsome friend Drew...
