2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Packaging for small items on: January 05, 2006 11:09:10 AM
Recently my LYS owner asked me if I would like to sell beaded stitch markers in her store. Its a small step in the right direction for me as I've never sold anything before. But the problem I am having is how to package them. Where can I get some nice little cards to attach them to? Or should I just put them in those tiny ziplock baggies? Mostly I want to keep the cost down so I would love all your suggestions and advice. Thanks!
3  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Feltalong #2, Needle Felt Love Bug & Heart on: January 05, 2006 08:47:55 AM
I have a quick question before we get started. Do we need several different needles in several different sizes? Or would one be enough? They only sell one size at my LYS (36) and it comes in a pack of 3. I was planning on buying it today when I go to drop off some stuff.
4  UNITED STATES / Tennessee / The Knuaghty Knitter in Murfreesboro on: December 13, 2005 03:27:43 PM
Since I moved to Murfreesboro I have been trying to find all the craft supplies I need. I go to Nashville once a week (driving my nieces to dance lessons) so I also look around there. Anyways I found this awesome store today and I was so happy I just had to share.

The Knuaghty Knitter
423 N. Walnut St
Murfreesboro, TN 37130

Its a little yellow house and I went inside and was thrilled to find Top and felting needles (I've been searching in Nashville for these). There are 3 rooms full of different yarns and the owner told me I had to touch the Alpaca (Sp?) before I left lol. Next month there will be Spinning lessons and she even sells some of the yarn she spins and dyes herself. There is Stich n Bitch every Sunday from 1-5pm (BRING your own tea cup!) and Friday Knitting Group every friday from 7-9pm. They do knitting lessons too. ($20) My boyfriend and I spent about 45 mins looking at all the stuff before we remembered there was a gallon of milk in the car lol. Anyhoo here is a pic of thier kniffty bag and the 1/2 pound of roving I got for $15. Thier selection of roving wasn't that big but its better than nothing Smiley K I have yakked enough for now. In the near future I will be checking out Be Dazzled a jewely/bead shop in Nashville so I will post that info when I get a chance.

my roving, and the lovely new dpns I got (came in a pack of 5  Shocked )
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Jewel's new sweater on: December 08, 2005 12:34:23 AM
I and my 2 year old Boxer, Jewel, recently moved to Tennessee from Texas. My poor litte baby (60 pounds is little..right?) is freezing up here!

If you've had the pleasure of knowing a boxer then you would know that they have very thin fur coats and on thier chest and stomach they only have peach fuzz. So when I take Jewel out to potty she shivers and it makes me so sad. I bought a pre-made coat which doesn't fit because she has a huge chest so I'm attemptimg to work out a pattern. I bought this pretty purple fleece I want to make the sweater out of since she looks stunning in purple Smiley So if you have ever made a sweater for a four legged friend who was 50+ pounds and have advice please let me know.

Edited 12/13/05

I went ahead and tried to make it. I made a pattern but then got stuck in bed for a few days and so my wonderful boyfriend ended up doing all the sewing for me. Here is what he came up with Smiley Jewel loves it because she is soo warm in it. She even helps you put it on her lol. He finished this a couple of days ago.

The deep purple didn't show up very well in the pictues Sad But I think it came out very nicely.

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Quechan Indians model home? help plz!?! on: November 14, 2005 05:03:02 PM
Ok my neice has a week to complete this project of a model home of Quechan Indians. So I spent 4 hours at the library today...as a result I can hardly walk anymore (due to my illness) and found maybe 6 whole pages of info on the Quechan and NO pictures  Cry Cry :'
Also I hate to admit this but I have never made a "model home" before so if anyone could give me advice on this I would really really appreciate it!  I figure crafty people can help me out with this one right?  I remember reading someones post about helping thier little sister...just can't find it again Sad Thank you in advance Cheesy
