2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / i haven't sold a thing on the site on: February 19, 2006 09:46:28 AM
i've put a good bit of energy into it.
maybe it's because i don't have a lot of variety right now?
(i made some holiday cards for halloween and christmas, but they were pretty specific to those times of the year, so i took them down)
anyway, what do you think?  http://heifer.etsy.com
3  Georgia / Georgia: Central / screenprinting in atlanta? on: January 21, 2006 12:42:44 PM
i need to find someone to teach me to screenprint. a workshop would be nice, cause I work odd hours and can't commit to a 6 week long class.
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / product help on: November 15, 2005 05:23:33 PM
so i'm trying to sell holiday cards, hoping for sooner rather than later.
right now i just have one kind at http://heifer.etsy.com
looking for input and kind suggestions
i'm especially worried about the pricing. i do want to make a reasonable profit, if only to make more cards:).
5  Georgia / Georgia: Central / promoting locally on: November 14, 2005 01:43:53 PM
maybe those of us trying to sell things could meet up? we could even do a small sale--though ii know it's close to the holidays, but maybe we could arrange something for valentine's day. or--at less risk--a website, maybe livejournal community promoting local craftsters. we could even pitch in for collective advertising. what do you think?

oh, i'm in atlanta by the way.
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: postcards on: July 16, 2005 05:16:32 PM

I'm not using an inkjet printer,I'm using a print gocco, but I was wondering if I could use the cards by say, hp or epson, for the job--if they would turn out ok.

I ended up buying a box of crane's imprintable line of flat cards, and a box of their hand bordered notes. hopefully they will work. Keep the info coming, though.

i do want to print them myself.
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / postcards on: July 15, 2005 05:16:25 PM
i'm trying to create at least 100 postcards to sell, but I don't want to spend too much money. I can't seem to find many options online other than ones you put in your printer, and I just wonder if those will bleed with the ink im using.

Will inkjet postcards work well with other mediums  (specifically gocco ink)? And will they look nice (since I am trying to sell them)?

And, in the ideal world, I'd like matte creme colored postcards where the ink kind of sets in, if you understand what I mean. Am I asking too much for a low budget--I'm not trying to spend more than  40 dollars on these postcards.

I'd really appreciate your help!

9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / my head hurts on: April 18, 2005 03:40:17 PM
this copyright business sounds like a lawyer's goldmine, and a crafter's nightmare.
10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / hanging pictures? on: March 18, 2005 05:09:01 PM

i'm not sure where to put this, so if it needs to be moved, please move it!

i'm having some ephemera matted but not framed. i've bought the frame, will buy the glass, but don't know what to do from there. Also, I'd like to know what kind of picture hangers to use and  how to use them. It's a light frame and a light picture.

help meeeee!
