1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitted Cactus! -first post by the way- on: January 17, 2007 11:55:32 AM
Wow! That is really cute. I'll have to make one myself. If it was treated with the spray teflon, do you think it could be used as a garden decoration?
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitted Dragon pattern on: November 03, 2006 10:10:35 PM
Oh I wanted to do the same thing. I was watching Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul school. There is a baby dragon in it called Matches. He is just too cute. I want to make one of those.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: betcha you haven't seen this... on: November 02, 2006 10:21:35 PM
You totally got ripped. The duck definitely deserves 1st. It is really cute. Oh well. Once the pumpkin starts to go bad, at least you'll have a really great stuffie. And my SO is wondering why you couldn't carve the pumpkin?
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help!! Desperate to figure out this lace! on: October 24, 2006 09:04:06 PM
It looks like the diamond strips (p203) pattern from big book of knitting stitch patterns without the purl column. I hope that helps.

That hoodie and your son are just too cute! And the cast-off thing can be easily solved next time. There's an article is the summer Knitty issue about different ways to do it. http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/FEATsum06TT.html

You did a great job on that beret. It looks better than the original.

That is so pretty! And the bra-stays are a brilliant idea. Mad props.

Congratulations. I'm sure a lot of people are impressed that you started using DPNs after only a week and using mohair! It looks terriffic!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: knitting with beads? on: October 13, 2006 03:40:38 AM
I think I was watching a Knitty Gritty rerun and they mentioned knitting with beads. There were two ways to do it. You could prestring the beads and then knit. Every once in a while, you'll have to cut the yarn to string more beads. Another way was to use a crochet hook. Put the bead on the crochet hook and then pull the stitch through the bead.
