21  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / This thing speaks to me on: January 28, 2010 08:15:41 AM
I'd looked at it a dozen times and finally it was marked down so I grabbed it. But what to do? It's stiff. But spectacular. A drape? For now anyway.
22  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Found a ton of very cool old crocheted things on: January 28, 2010 08:14:22 AM
Including this little dress. No small girls around so instant lamp decor.
23  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hutch redo on: January 28, 2010 08:13:05 AM
It's kind of hard to tell from the pix but in the new house there was a built in hutch in the kitchen. My hutch really wasn't going to fit anywhere. It's a small house. I had Steve remove the sides that attached the top to the bottom and hang it on the wall. Now the bottom is a tv stand and the top holds wineglasses and other crystal things. In between is a hand painted floor cloth from another friends give me things and what can I do with them. It was too slippery for me on the floor but too cool not to keep.

Really, I'll take anything anyone is giving away. But the there is always that 'now what' moment. These two towels ended up as kitchen valances.

This is late from the year of the hurricanes. Every time another one came through I added the name. the rain is trash bags and the clouds are toilet paper. Hey, it's what we had on hand.
