1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: two bracelets, purple but otherwise unrelated on: July 18, 2006 03:42:23 PM
Wow   Shocked   Grin

They are both gorgeous - purple is my fave colour so I guess there is a bias in there as well!   Roll Eyes

Iam very impressed that you just eyeball the clasps and not work to a formula - that is very cool  Cool  I have to work to a formula - just the way my brain works I guess.  I would be very interested if there is any advice you would give (further to that which you have already given) and indeed any you receive.  I am always on the lookout for ways to make new clasps so that the piece is that little bit (more...) unusual...   Roll Eyes

Anyway they are brill  Grin

2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The 2006 Wishlist Swap June Gallery on: July 10, 2006 04:08:53 PM
Hiya everyone,

I must say thank you to RubyTuesday - she sent me some fingerless gloves which she has posted a pic of since I have been unable to (MS has been playing up).  I must also say that I LOVE THEM  Grin  They have been worn lots and appreciated lots by others as well.  RubyTuesday has sewn on some sequins onto them as well and in that has put a seed bead so when it catches the light it really sparkles - so cool  Cool

Honestly, RubyTuesday you should make some for yourself - they are great.

I have also received a Panta from Goldfishgirl and it has also been worn with pride - and appreciated by others!  It is lovely - when I am able I will take a photo of it.  She has put a lot of work into it and it is also really cool.

Thank you both so much - I will post pics when I can, I promise.

Wow I love your take on the idea Modus Operandi - really beautiful, although I maybe slightly biased  Roll Eyes   purple is my favourite colour, and that wire is simply gorgeous  Grin

I also really like the way you have tapered it and made the ends of the bracelet such a feature.

I loved this cuff anyway but the new slant you have added has increased it's allure even more  Shocked

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Noisy things - first post in a long time..... on: June 17, 2006 03:27:06 PM
Hiya alwaysinmyroom

I know what you mean about working around computers, when I was at work, bracelets like got taken off at the beginning of the day along with my watch, and they very rarely got put back on, which kind of defeated the object!

I buy the beads from www.JillyBeads.co.uk.  They come in both individual colours and an assorted mix so I make up the colour schemes myself - it's been around the favourite colours of the people involved.  So for mine the main colours are purple and black, but for my sister-in-law they were kind of autumnal colours with some blue, they are the colours she wears.

They don't tend to be heavy, which is good  Cheesy

I think I am quite taken with anklet idea - it'll be like wearing bells round your ankles, although you couldn't sneak up on anyone  Wink

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Purple Pendant on: June 17, 2006 03:17:11 PM
Ok, so this wasn't strictly made so much as assembled!  I bought the pendant at a Bead show I went to recently and it was screaming to be made into a necklace so I had to oblige  Roll Eyes  The colour and irridescence of it don't come out well in the photo - it's great to wear, really sets things off, especially as I tend to wear black  Wink

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Flat Peyote Choker on: June 17, 2006 03:12:31 PM

I made this a while ago and didn't post it.  I did it as I was asked to do a tutorial for flat peyote and then what with moving and my MS I haven't posted it.  Anyways, I have the tutorial ready (ish - I think it is a bit image heavy at the moment) - do you guys think I should post it here?

This is the end result, I am not pleased with my work - but then I don't think that any craftster is...

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Beaded watch straps on: June 17, 2006 03:07:27 PM
What do you guys think of these?  I have showed them to some friends and they said that I should sell them....

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Noisy things - first post in a long time..... on: June 17, 2006 02:58:30 PM
This is my first post for a long time, what with moving - and all that entails - and the fact that my MS has played up recently, I haven't made much or posted anything.  Please let me know what you think of these...  Roll Eyes

The first bracelet and necklace set are ones I have made for myself, and are now looking worn  Undecided  I am thinking of doing an anklet as well.

This second set are those I made for my sister-in-law's birthday - she loved them!  She is living in Tansania now and said that the women there will love them - so I have won  Grin  I made earrings as well but I forgot to take pics of them.

Please let me know what you think....

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: First post:) Image heavy jewelry pics on: June 16, 2006 04:39:37 PM
They are all really good - I really like the peyote one at the end - that is lovely.

My husband has the same point of view about the sale of the stuff I produce, I need to sell stuff to be able to be able to buy more I think.....

I agree with BeaG as well - the photos are good.   Cheesy
