82  CANADA / Ontario / Re: Moving to Acton....any hope of finding craftsters? on: February 03, 2006 07:15:45 PM
hey there
i do not live in acton, but my mom does! she is not a crafty type.
i have spent some time there, though, and i can tell you that the yarn store on mill street 'headwater wool' (i think) is really great and teh woman who runs it is really nice and raises alpacas somewhere nearby. i am actually spending this weekend in acton! my mom lives in the icky monster homes by the golf course.

not craft realted, but you should definitely try 'a taste of italy' also on mill street. the food is very good.

85  CANADA / Ontario / Re: looking for wool roving in Toronto on: November 07, 2005 07:31:48 AM

I just checked out Romni Wools for some wool roving (for needle felting) and they didn't have much in the way of selection (they were sold out of a lot, apparently), unless I wanted to buy a gigantic bag of only one colour. Does anybody know where else I can go for some wool roving?

i'm really surprised that you didn't find what you were looking for at romney
they had tonnes when i was there, although, you're right, most of it is un-dyed.
have you tried dying roving with kool-aid or cake dye? it is really easy, fun and satisfying.. that way you could buya bulk amount in natural and costum dye..

also, i think ebay is AMAZING for buying fibres.. check it out!

good luck!
