1  Re: A couple of baby knits in Knitting: Completed Projects by funkyhooker on: August 26, 2007 06:29:44 PM
Ok, you did a wonderful job on both sweaters!  I want to knit the BSJ so badly but I don't want to buy a whole book or a kit! I've perused the links on the knitwiki and haven't found anything suitable to buy.
Can anyone suggest a link to JUST THE PATTERN or is anyone willing to sell me theirs?

If you have a look here you can buy the pattern for $3.  That's what I did as I didn't want a whole book either.

OH thank you!  that is exactly what I needed!

Ok, it WAS exactly what I needed but I can't believe I just paid almost $5 for shipping of a PAMPHLET!  Shocked

Got my pattern the other day! I thought the shipping recepit was funny.

2  baby haiku in Knitting: Completed Projects by funkyhooker on: August 26, 2007 06:15:04 PM
I haven't posted an FO in a LONG time.  I finished up the Baby Haiku from Knitty for a quick bday gift for my niece tho!  It was REALLY quick as I used 2 strands of CSS held together. Size 10 US needles.  I would have like to have used some nicer yarn but she's being raised by my father and really...... they're lucky laundry gets done let alone handwashing something!   Roll Eyes Cheesy

I saw this purse about a week ago and decided I must have one! I decided to make mine somewhat larger tho.  I need the space.  I love it minus the closure.  It came out kinda wonky and organic.  Oh well,, I still love it!  I used Lion Wool (orange), Patons for felting (green) and Patons CM (Gold).  I've had 3 random strangers comment on it!

Ok, I only have a few periods a year because of my PCOS but when I have one it usually sneaks up on me!  I've been considering making some of these for some time for that reason and I think they'd be PERFECT for our "shit hits the fan" bug out kit!
Think about it, if you can't get to the drug store and everything is going to hell in a handbasket and you're female,,, whaddaya gonna do?  I made one this evening and I'm hooked!  I tried it on and it feels much more comfy than I expected!  It was also a fun project to make.  I'll be making SOOOOO many more of these!  Guess what my girlfriends are getting for Christmas this year?  Grin
I bought half a yard of vinyl lining and half a yard of flannelette at Wal-mart for $1 a yard.  I have plenty left to make more so it didn't even cost 50 cents to make!

The severed head of Eric Carr has been BUSY tonight!  This is his 3rd FO modeling job!  This hat was a pain in the toosh but I like the way it turned out.  It fits with the airy lacey thing I was trying to get going.

Here's the pattern

The severed head of Eric Carr presents to you my Mardi Gras inspired panta.  I really like this one.  I got smart and made it like 4 inches too short so it would actually stay on my head!

Here's my latest.  In honor of lola712's husband over on the crochet board!  I wanted to knit this one as crocheted hats just don't seem that "MANLY" to me.  This one's name is "JB"  It's also done in binary numbers.  Call me a dork but I'm a homeschool mommy and we learned about binary numbers yesterday so the stripes go 2,3,5,7,13  Grin

Now I have motivation to make another "man hat" and his name will be "JB".  Wink Thanks for your reply.
I made another today.  It's knit but it has a crochet flower, so it's still on topic right?  Cheesy  the pattern for the flower is http://www.crochetnmore.com/boucleflower.htm

I made it up with some soft (but AWFUL) Bernat baby boucle and some scrap of this pepto pink homespun.  I added a little button from my stash.  Maybe a little girl will like this one.  I'd made a few knit ones
But I didn't get much of a response.
My friend and head of our guild said we needed some tags to attach to the hats so I also made this up this evening.
