1  Re: Wisp from Knitty in Knitalongs by brightlights on: June 16, 2007 03:41:39 PM
I am done 7 repeats and I bought my buttons today so I thought I'd show off a bit Smiley

OK this picture sucks, but I thought I'd show it off anyway.  The yarn I'm using is Alessandra Filato Super Kid Seta, in pale blue.
I have a lot more done than in this picture, I am finishing the 4th repeat now.  I am addicted to this, hopefully I can keep it going at this rate.

3  Re: New Stitch Diva Pattern/Glampyre sweater in Knitalongs by brightlights on: March 22, 2007 04:41:39 PM
I just posted in the completed projects section, but here is my SKB so we can have them all in one place.

Made with Karabella Aurora 8, I have a 37" bust, but made the smallest size to compensate for not getting gauge.  I think the fabric would have been too stiff if I had gone down a size.  I used size 5 Denise's for the body and my size 3 bamboo DPN's for the lace because I was too cheap to buy new circulars.
I shortened the lace section, and omitted some of the purl ridges.

4  Simple Knitted Bodice in Knitting: Completed Projects by brightlights on: March 22, 2007 04:36:58 PM

I finished this one a while ago.  The yarn is Karabella Aurora 8, I knit the smallest size on size 5 needles, because I didn't get gauge, and didn't want to go to a smaller needle with this yarn.
I made modifications as I went.  Took out the purl ridges, and made the lace sections shorter.
Pattern can be found at stitchdiva.com
I love top down raglans, and once I am done my current sweater, I will be making many of Stephanie Japel's patterns from "Fitted Knits", I love her style!

5  Petunia Tote from IK Spring 2007 in Knitting: Completed Projects by brightlights on: March 22, 2007 04:20:39 PM

Finished it.  Well, I just stuck a piece of cardboard in the bottom, but I haven't lined it yet.  It looks a little bumpy in the pictures but thats because I stuffed some clothes in it to get a picture.
This was a fun knit and I am very pleased with the results.
Also posted in the KAL thread.

Here are a few pics of my bag as of today.  I am almost done, but thats because I am skipping the last half of the second chart as I am running out of yarn.  These look pretty lumpy.  I am pretty sure when I block it that the uneven tension between the knits and purls will sort itself out and the flowers will look a little more like flowers.  The pattern also says to lightly iron it I think so it will work out.

This is a pretty fun knit.  I have been completely ignoring my other projects to get this one done.
Do you guys think it looks OK in a neutral colour like this?

8  Re: Knit 1 Winter 2006/07 Cable Hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by brightlights on: January 17, 2007 07:54:51 AM

This is more of the true colour.  I used Filatura di crosa Zara in colour 1735.
It did knit up very quickly, there are only 2 rows that are in the cable pattern, and the rest is plain knitting.

9  Knit 1 Winter 2006/07 Cable Hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by brightlights on: January 16, 2007 07:17:23 PM
I finished the cable hat from the new Knit 1 magazine.  It was an easy knit and I love the way it turned out.  I think it is my best looking FO yet.

These pics aren't the best, the yarn is a deeper blue than is looks like.  But I was so excited I had to share!!!
Thanks for looking.

10  Re: "Fetching" from Knitty: Summer 2006 in Knitalongs by brightlights on: October 28, 2006 11:16:42 AM
Sorry I know this is not much of a picture.  I finished last night.   I used Knitpicks Andean Silk in Olive.  It is a beautiful yarn, I used 1 ball plus a couple of yards of a second.  Now I need to think of a matching accessory I can make to use of the rest of the yarn.  I also bought the same yarn in Sangria, Hollyberry, and Cranberry to make 3 more pairs for Christmas gifts.  I just have to decide which colour I want to keep for myself!
