91  Re: fill a coin purse round 4 in The Swap Gallery by tristitia on: April 07, 2006 06:47:00 PM
USPS says that my package was dropped off to Edamame on Wednesday, and she's on vacation until 4/16, so I'm going to post pictures (I'm so impatient  Roll Eyes) of what I sent her...

The coinpurse I made was knitted lace with crochet edging and flower.  The lining I made like a regular lined zipper pouch in black.

Then I made some tiny notecards with pressed flowers

I don't really remember too well what else I sent... some beads/buttons, magnets, a little bunny, mini-sharpies... I think.  I only took pics of what I made...

I hope she likes it!!!

I received my most beautiful coinpurse from edamame yesterday... It is ever so nice and incredibly well made.  Thank you so much, edamame, this is definately something that I'm actually going to use, and a lot!

here is the purse, and some fancy braid and asian coins to embellish something soon:

and here is the most cool chinese joss paper, some goldfish, a cute little felt flower pin, and a really cute little book of black cards to use gel pens with:

Thank you again, edamame!!!

93  Re: FOC swap 2!! in The Swap Gallery by tristitia on: March 29, 2006 01:52:11 PM
I received the most absolutely awsome package today!!  Really, I'd be perfectly happy if my partner didn't send me anything else - this was my number 1 wish (wristwarmers) and she sent me TWO pairs!!!  I knit, but almost never for myself, and I really wanted some of these!  I also really really love the colors on the striped pair (I wish I could ask what yarn she used  Sad), and I don't know if I included it in my questionnaire for this swap or not, but I really wanted cabled ones!  Thank you so much, secret crafter, you really are the best!!!

Okay, this is my first time using photobucket for pictures, hope this works...

aren't they the most beautifullest? Grin

I'm finally getting to post pics of the beautiful stuff that I received from Urvi - I'm so sorry it took me so long!

First, all the goods together:

The painted box (I couldn't get a good pictures w/o glare because of the lacquer), two cute keyrings, and a very cool charm with a flower carved from some sort of stone:

handpainted notecards:

a cute little bag from the school where she volunteers:

this very cool thing which Urvi meant to be used as a pillow cover, but I thought it would make a great laptop cover... the tan fabric is actually cut away to show the green and brown fabric which is underneath - and the design is absolutely fantastic!:

and the best thing... a bag with a handpainted tree lady!!!

Isn't that the coolest image?  And the bag is really well made and very sturdy, I can haul a lot in it for a long time!!!

Thank you again Urvi, I love it all!!!

95  Re: Japanese Swap in The Swap Gallery by tristitia on: March 07, 2006 05:46:20 PM
Okay, here was my attempt to help FunkyOlive get that "Fruits" style  Cheesy

A couple of crazy scarves:
(one is a rapunzel scarf that I used a million different types of yarn, ribbon, and lace in, and it actually turned out pretty cool, but all the pictures are crappy because I took them at night my hallway... the other is a crocheted mesh scarf made out of really crazy yarn, and the third is crocheted flowers)

She wanted something with kanzashi flowers, so here's a little coinpurse with it's kewpie guardian:

And here's a purse made out of a felted child's sweater:

I also sent her a bunch of different Japanese candies, some children's chopsticks, some beaded bracelets that I made with Hello Kitty and stars, and some crazy earrings that I made with hot dog and plastic wine bottle charms.  Oh, and a bunch of assorted Japanese stationary from my ridiculous collection  Roll Eyes

And now that she has all these wintery accessories, spring will arrive!  Yay!!!

Okay, here are the things I sent to Urvi... I'm not very adept at photo posting, so hopefully this works out:

A little knit bag with an embroidered tree:

A little clutch bag with tree fabric and leaf buttons (but it has a magnetic closure):

even the lining has leafs!

a little tree made of floral wire and beads:

but here's the part that broke (stupid me  Roll Eyes)

a little box:

and some tree-themed bracelets (one is crocheted with a tree button, the other is just beaded with leaf beads):

blurry action shot...

I took a picture of the photo frame, but it turned out icky, so I'm not gonna post it.  besides, I just posted way too many pictures as it is!

97  Re: THRIFT STORE PURSE REVAMP *ROUND II* sign ups CLOSED in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by tristitia on: December 14, 2005 06:54:26 PM
Okay, this is my first attempt to post a pic... supposedly my husband sized them appropriately, so here goes...
this is my before bag that I sent to Cheap Thrills... boring!!! a good blank canvas, though, the material should be easy to work on.  I like the shape and the handle, and it's pretty sturdy, the lining is also nice and clean and intact.  But it's so plain!
