1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / sundresses? on: January 07, 2008 04:44:43 PM
I'm pretty sure I'm asking for too much, hahaha.
I am in search of summery sundress patterns.
I would like for them to be without a zipper (if at all possible!)
Style ideas:

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / first piece of clothing! on: September 05, 2006 08:03:26 AM
So I've been sewing totes and such for a few months.
On Sunday, my parents gave me an early birthday present...they had ordered me a new sewing machine!  Smiley
These pj pants were the first project done on the new machine...plus the first non-square thing I have sewn.  hahaha.

3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Pirate tote on: September 05, 2006 08:00:34 AM
I did this stencil on a bag that I sewed, I'm giving it to her for her bday.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Totes and a wallet! on: September 05, 2006 07:48:50 AM
These were two birthday presents.  I had to finish them late, simply because my friend's birthdays fell around the time I went on vacation.
For my friend Sara, who loves pirates.  haha.

The lining!

For Elisha, a wallet.

(It isn't lying flat there...it does, I promise!)

A tote for my mom, she wanted something she could take her lunch and book back and forth to work in...since she has a fridge there, she doesn't need an insulated bag.

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / First "real" project...summery tote on: May 09, 2006 10:16:55 AM
I recently got a sewing machine ($5 for a singer, hahaha, my parents thought that I would want to learn on it, so they brought me one last weekend).  I made a camera cozy, but that was only a 5 minute project.
I found my fabric on the $2 rack at Joann Fabrics (outer and lining!).  I wanted something I could use for my iPod, book, flips, and towel for the beach...but nothing huge since there's usually a bunch of people in the car going with me.

Outer fabric:

Lining (it was dark when I took this, ahah)

My first pocket!

(Excuse the weird face, ahaha.  It was late and I was excited to have finished!)
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Chunky yarn question on: February 06, 2006 03:07:02 PM
So as a Christmas present (haha, yes...my friend and I just exchanged...our scheds were too crazy) one of my very best friends (who is not a knitter) got me two skeins of Joann's Sensations Icee yarn (described as "a feathery chenille").  I have a skein of hot pink and one of white, each skein is 1 3/4 oz (38.29 yards).

Does anyone have any ideas for a small bag using this yarn?  Or a hat?  I'm open to either...just not a scarf, it's not enough yarn...plus I have a bit of a scarf fetish and have entirely too many.
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / First attempt on: November 07, 2005 06:15:23 PM
I made my first stencil, a layered stencil at that.
I was really happy with how it turned out.
The front was the layered stencil of a man on a bench...
The lyrics on the back say "Sitting alone on the sidelines"...it's from an Adam Richman song.
This was a request from my brother...

haha, my brother was making weird faces.

and a bag I made...excuse the wrinkles...it survived a pit and crowds at a show a couple of weeks ago...

EDIT...I fixed the pics...
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Man alone standing or sitting? on: October 31, 2005 02:44:24 PM
I'm making my brother a hoodie (Adam Richman related).  It has the lyrics "Sitting alone on the sideline" that are on the bottom back of the hoodie, they wrap around.  I'd really like a stencil of a man sitting alone, if not standing could be okay.  I haven't been able to find anything...
