1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Memory box for school project on: November 23, 2007 05:21:46 PM
So, for my History Class we have been studying our family history. Hence these snazzy memory boxes, which have all sorts of my family pictures and a few items too.

My brother's baby picture

My brother and I + a camp libby badge

A bunch of things...I'm in the left corner (the baby), my dad, brother and I are in the middle, and my mom on her wedding day is on the end

family portraits

My side, my pics+buisness card

my mom's senior pic+some pretty star fabric

My brother

my mom's family (from left to right); my grandma's baby pic, my uncle, my mom, my grandpa, my grandpa's baby pic, my grandma

A few of these are attached to foam sheets and are 3D. Buttons and spools of thread have been scattered throughout. It's a shoe box covered in tissue paper.

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Creative minds to help with t-shirt design? on: November 04, 2007 09:15:10 AM
Alright, so...my flute choir and I want to make t-shirts. But, everything I think of doesn't have the flair I'm hoping for. We don't have money to hire someone, and were hoping someone would make us something. We want to have the different types of flutes on there (piccolo, C flute, alto flute, bass flute, contrabass flute) and want it to be catchy. If anyone is willing to make this for us, it'd be greatly appreciated and I will link to your website (if you have one) on our website. Please PM me if interested! Thanks!
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Goth princess? Goth little red riding hood? Help! on: October 20, 2007 10:45:32 PM
Alrighty, so I've already decided I want to be goth for halloween (seeing as my parents freak out if I do that the rest of the year, and I want my fun!) I have a pair of black pants that I'm adding suspender-type things to, and plenty of black shirts. I also have combat boots to wear, and I'm going to do something fun with my makeup (prob. bright to contrast all the black). Now...to get a discount ticket for my schools dance, I have to tell them what I am. I could be a goth little red riding hood (I have a cape). Or...what about a goth princess? With a tiara? What should I do? I'm going to get some arm warmers, and I have chains and such for the pants. I may buy a pair of piano-keys suspenders from hot topic and just let them hang. I'm not sure yet--any ideas to help me out? I don't have much more money to spend, about $25 or so. Help?
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Makeup/Makeup accesories swap? on: October 09, 2007 05:26:04 PM
Suggested in this thread.

We could do a lot of accessories, such as makeup bags, "idea books", brush bags/sets, etc. We could also throw in actual makeup if wanted. I'm thinking it would be uber fun! I've never swapped, so I couldn't organize, but I'd be able to join now that I have money. Anyone interested?
5  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / I'd love some general help with my flute choir... on: September 15, 2007 06:23:14 PM
So...I started up a flute choir over the summer. And we are surprisingly great, and the 5 of us really enjoy playing together. Of course, flute choirs=expensive and I need to fundraise. We're thinking of a lot of great ideas. Earring to be sold in the school store, some kind of party-esque thing, etc. Any ideas would be great! We're also probably going to end up selling candy/chocolates at school because it's inevitable, but I don't want that to be our only fundraising option.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / I'm a procrastinator, 4 big birthdays in 2 months! on: August 02, 2007 03:41:33 PM
Okay, heres my problem. I'm a procrastinator...big time. My mom turns 50 on Monday, and my Grandpa turns 80 in November. I need some birthday ideas!! What should I make them? My grandma and dad's birthdays are also coming up-in September. My grandma will be 77 and my dad will be 51. Ideas?

My mom is a super crafty person, more-so with her fairies (will post pics when I get some), and she also likes to do some interior designing. She's really hoping for some vintage round chairs (you know, with the curved backs). I want to get some for her-where should I look? I think I'm going to force my dad to take me to goodwill tomorrow after work, we need to look at least! She's willing to reupholster too. I was also thinking about making her some kind of jewlery--but she doesn't wear very much. And she only likes amber. Maybe a scrapbook thrown together quickly? I could get the pics from my grandparents. Help!!

My grandfather is a really sentimental guy. He loves to take photos, and hasn't been able to do much since he's gotten ill (back problems). He is severely hearing impaired, which always makes me sad. He really likes Sousa Marches and anything irish/scotish. My mom made him a plaque with our family crest a year or two ago, and he loved that. He's always been super proud of all of us, and loves to come see us succeed. I kinda want to throw him a small party, but I've never planned one. My mom threw my grandparents a surprise wedding anniversery last year, she'd probably be able to help. And my grandma would be tickled, she loves planning parties. Good idea?

My dad is such a special guy. He's really laidback, and loves everything you get him (especially gag gifts). I was thinking an army man bowl with a t-shirt? He loves kermit the frog.

My grandma and I are like best friends. She's a bit picky, but would never tell you she doesn't like something. I really don't know about her. She's pretty religious (methodist), loves Thomas Kinkade, and likes to listen to old music. She also deeply loves to play Mexican Train Dominos with me (who doesn't? That game is the shiznit), and likes most any game. She also really likes puzzles. I have no ideas for her, and her birthday is right after my dads.
Pics of all of them, so you can get an idea...

I crochet, scrapbook, do most paper crafts, and am a musician. I also paint, stencil, transfer, and do general sewing (nothing too fancy!)
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I need help finding a pattern on: June 26, 2007 05:03:59 PM
I want a dress like this

but I can't find a pattern for it! I wear a size 24 or 26 dress (I have large hips and I take the top in to about a 20 or so). It would be a while before I start it (I'm a total sewing n00b, I'm going to start with some simple stuff this week) Any ideas?
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / HELP!!!---Chart Maker needed! on: January 14, 2007 07:27:25 PM
My friend is a knitter and is finishing her 1st illusion scarf-the one from SnB. I'm a crocheter...so yeah. She's hoping to make an illusion scarf with horses on it. Could someone make me the chart? Or help somehow? I tried to figure it out...but yeah.
9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / I wanna do something different this year on: October 08, 2006 07:15:46 PM
So I'm 14 and I want to do something different this year for halloween. I wear a 22/24 and have ZERO bust!! But, I want something different. When I was 4, my dad and I were cows (he's 6'4" and had floppy ears and everything, it was hilarious.) at 5 I was the same as every other 5 year old--a bride. At 6 and 7 I was a 50's girl. 8 and 9 I was a dead cheerleader. 10 and 11 made me a ghost and a ghoul. And 12 and 13 I was a fairy complete with this gorgeous renisance dress in red crushed velvet. I want to do something witty!! Help!!!
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / I plan to take over my country.... on: September 24, 2006 06:28:47 AM
So for history we have to create our own country using a school-appropriate theme. I'd really like to do Jethro Tull as my country (I lust over Ian Anderson!). How should I make this 3-d country? what should I use? It's due Friday!
