1  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery - October 2006 in The Swap Gallery by bijouxpuck on: October 13, 2006 04:51:09 PM
McJulie-O and I didn't make it for the Reading Swap, so we decided to do a private swap with each other.  She's a wonderful craftster and I'm so lucky to have her as my swap partner.

Here is the beautiful butterfly tote bag that she made.  It has pretty butterfly print with gorgeous colors. Check out the butterfly shape pocket on the front!

And here is the equally cheerful lining. She sewed really neat! I love this bag. It's very roomy, perfect for me : a person who lugs all her belongings whereever she goes.

And she also made me the lab glass pendants with neat reading theme, here's the front:

and here's the back:

And, if that's not enough ... she made me PLENTY of cards! She also included cards with my favorite book/picture (Howl's Moving Castle) and a picture illustration from my blog.

Thank you so much McJulie-O.  You're a wonderful swap partner, and thank you for proposing this personal swap. I can't help feeling so lucky!  Cheesy

I requested my partner to craft for my son since he's very interested in rock study at the moment.  Debra/goatgoddess was graciously willing to do so. Thank you so much, Debra!!!

She sent Christer rocks ... to add to his rock collection. Here are some rocks found in Colorado:

These ones are from Livingston, Montana:

And fossil found near her pond in Texas:

They're all nicely packed in a container.

Rock magnets ... they are now beautifying our refrigerator door, holding Christer's notes, etc.:

Rock bookmarks ... Christer uses them to mark a book that his dad is reading to him, and his current book:

And ... a "Have a gneiss day" stenciled shirt that he loves so much, that I have to wash it every night while he's asleep:

Once again, thank you so much, goatgoddess!  Each one of your gifts is very much appreciated and used by Christer.  Smiley

bijoixpuck: I just started a nee diet today; maybe I would not have to keep doing this if I didn't have to eat so many of my words! I need to copy your sign and put it on my fridge.
Freegranny, you are just too cute! Just a thought ... perhaps the diet is needed because all your words are so sweet  Wink

Hey there, like my candle, if you included something that might melt or break or otherwise create a curious problem for the post office, they may open the the package, and that might be stopping it up somewhere...  Mine had a sticker on it that said; re-sealed at Seattle central processing something or other, and a hand written spot where someone wrote in 'candle melted'. just a thought!!
Thank you, Javastain, for the comforting thought. I appreciate it.

Cortag04 received her package more than a week ago, she's probably busy, so I'll post the pictures for her.
She said she loves bags. Here is a mini backpack, the theme is He Loves me. It came with a picture note of a girl counting flower petals, muttering away, "He loves me ... He loves me not ... He loves me .. etc." The message is count no more petals, He loves you!

I told Cortag that this clutch purse is a combination of us, her love of bag & favorite bible verse, and my favorite colors & little character. The fabric is from a variety of scraps pieced together (Is this called a patchwork?)

I assume she has a dog because of her avatar. It's a bowl mat for her pet.

This scarf symbolizes that Jesus loves us, died for us (the cross), wants to be in our life & hearts(the white is Him, the black is us).

When I was at the bead store I saw the green cross. I thought it was pretty and soothing color ... just like Jesus, He's lovely and peaceful. Here is the crocheted choker built around the cross.

I used to teach, so I go a bit nutty over theme some times. I hope I don't come across like a scarry fanatic. Embarrassed

Yesterday I received a package from cortag04. She sent me lovely & thoughtful gifts.

The color of the clock is refreshing lime green. It has hand drawn stars all over and a quotation from Ps. 3:5 around it "I lie down & sleep; I wake again. The Lord sustains me."

A beautified hand towel. Check out the embellishments! The picture doesn't really show, but the middle grommit (?) has a yellow jewel in it.

A CD compilation of contemporary Christian artists. This is a very thoughtful gift. I'd written in the questionairre that I did not know much about contemporary Christian music, she has increased my music library!

Thank you very much, Cortag04!

Yesterday modestmaya's package arrived. I didn't even know about it until minutes before I was going to work! Thank you so much for everything, Maya. You crafted such lovely items and I am blessed to receive them.

A Jesus bookmark (and it is sturdy! My bookmarks tended to get bent here and there, this one will not  Smiley)
The other one is a bottle cap Jesus pin. It has the same Jesus picture as the bookmark.

A miniature wall hanging with Michelangelo's painting of God holding the suffering Jesus.

I like this decoupaged box ... for some reason it reminds me of Reese's peanut butter cup, yum!

A dashboard Jesus! Hehehehe.

Thank you once again, Maya!

I received a package in the middle of the week. I thought it was from modestmaya, she had written earlier that she mailed her package. So, I blithely opened it without checking who it was from. It turned out it was from CosmicCranberry. There's a little mixed up for I'm actually not her partner, but she told me to keep it. Thank you so much for everything, Meg! I feel bad that you have to craft again for your "true partner". I'll put more stuffs in my package for you as if you have two partners, okay? Smiley

She made this beautiful glass pebble mosaic cross.

Here are the jewelries. A hemp bracelet she made with adorable wire angels, cross necklace (my very first!) that I wore to work last night, and an I <3 you pin.

Books to enrich my spiritual life. I have two younger sisters who are single, I will share with them the Passion & Purity book.

A Jesus clock.

The one on the left said, "Please help me not to be so busy making a living I forget to make a life. Amen"
While on the right said, "Lord, make my words as sweet as honey - for tomorrow I may have to eat them."

Stickers, notepad, and a vegetale cd.

You packed a plethora of goodies. Thank you so much for your generosity!

Oh, I must include this very happy boy's picture. Christer just started watching Vege tales as Sabbath afternoon activity, yes, he's rather late into that (we don't do much movies in the past).

bracelet_girl sent me beautiful stitch markers. She said she wasn't sure which style I would like, so she tried to include as many different type possible (so thougtful and generous of her!).  Thank you so much, I like each one of them.  Smiley

These markers posessed dramatic coloring beads. Quite fancy.

These ones are so sweet ... soft blue and sparkling white.

Aren't they cute and whimsical? How can one look at them and not smile?

Am so happy to receive these pretty stitch markers!

9  Re: Isabeau, small and quick... anyone game? in Knitalongs by bijouxpuck on: March 04, 2006 03:31:01 PM
To Loisgriffinwannabe or Emms,

Thank you so much for introducing this pattern for knitalong. It is a beautiful little purse. I made one for my friend. She loves butterfly, so I tried to incorporate a butterfly theme into it.  It took me a while to finish it ... the knitting was alright, blocking was not a favorite activity of mine, and the sewing ... sigh ...  the latter almost killed me for I am not a sewer!

My friend loves green and purple. The purse itself is green ...

... with purple butterfly motifs lining ...

... here is a close up of the butterfly button ...

She used it for church today, and another friend loved it. I will make another one for the other friend. I suppose if I continue making this purse, I'll ended up a sewer!  Wink

Here are the lovelies that Yoyowa had crafted for me  Smiley

She wrote a nice and thoughtful note in a pretty card.  Each item was wrapped with these colorful tissue papers.

The famous Mr. Darcy bag.  It is large enough that I can put several piano books in it! Excellent!

A dainty little bag in my favorite color (isn't yellow such a happy color?). It has written quotation inside and outside. Outside: "I do not want people to be agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them."  Inside: "Silly things do cease to be silly if they are done by sensible people in an imprudent way."

A pretty pouch, that I can put my "touch-up" make-ups.

Beautiful necklaces in black and white (what an elegant combination), plus my favorite Jane Austen's story book.

Yoyowa, thank you very much for the wonderful package.  I'm not trying to minimize your feeling, but frankly, I cannot see what had made you so worried. You did such an excellent job, and your thoughtfulness showed in each item. Thank you once again!  Smiley
