21  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitty Surprises are up! on: February 27, 2006 11:06:23 AM
K thought I'd post my dirty little confession on here...I've already ordered the yarn for Starsky! I chose "Leaf" in Knitpicks Sierra...I've never used this stuff before, so hopefully it works out and I won't have to return it instead when it comes...(I'm always so wary when I order yarn online but so far I've been lucky and impressed every time)

I'm so excited!

Knitalong anyone?

As soon as I saw Starsky, I fell in love and hurriedly clicked 'print'.  I can't wait to finish my gazillion other projects so I can start this one !

My hourglass is pretty much done! (As finished as it gets for the next little while)...bottom edge still needs to be hemmed, and armpits grafted.

(there are more pictures on my blog)

I made the XS with 4.5 mm's and TLC "Lustre" (acrylic).  It took less than 4 skeins of the stuff.

Considering it's made with inexpensive acrylic yarn, I love it! It's soft and warm and cushy and fits almost perfectly.

Definitely making another one of these...with nice yarn hopefully Cheesy
24  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Need yarn recommendations - help! on: February 09, 2006 09:31:25 AM
Greetings fellow knitters!

A friend of mine recently asked if I could help knit her a scarf.  I agreed, of course, but I would like to know the best type of yarn to use to knit a long, long skinny scarf, with fringe (100" long, 3" wide)

My friend has tried her hand at knitting but claims she doesn't have the patience for it.  I'm hoping this scarf (made with yummy yummy REALLY SOFT yarn) will bring her interest back for knitting.

Any suggestions?
