1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Grrrr-illa on: October 05, 2006 12:41:05 AM
I whipped this angry looking fella up over the weekend as a prototype for a line of ami's I want to make & maybe sell.

I'd love to know what you think.
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Tubby amigurumi monster on: September 06, 2006 09:18:55 PM
My friend Mardi put in a request for an ami for a friend's new bub, the outline she gave me was "make a monster" so I came up with this tubby fella. Many thanks to Pureeva for the directions for making the puppet style mouth & the popcorn stitch thumbs.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A mouse, a robot & a plan for world domination on: July 26, 2006 01:12:44 AM
I've been wanting to try my hand at illusion knitting to see how it worked. I found a pattern I liked at http://www.patricialillie.com/knits/robotsscarf.pdf & knitted it up with some scrap yarn.

Scruff was amazed that a robot could hide itself in a piece of knitting & quickly began devising a plan to take control of the planet.

4  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Cheap yarn & a three day growth. on: July 10, 2006 08:10:59 PM
OK, ignore the Barnsey reference, there is cheap ($2 a ball) acrylic yarn & feathery yarn at "Tek's" bargain shop in Marrickville Metro, Sydney.
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Roofie the 80's Monkey on: June 06, 2006 06:20:17 PM
I made Roofie (originally named Richard Simians) for my dear friend Eyesalight's 30th b'day. He also has bright blue wrist-bands & head-band for when his needs to get his cardio on & a frog hat for when he's feeling amphibious.

Here he is enjoying some lunch on his day trip to China-town (the woman sitting behind me was wetting herself laughing when I took the photo).
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My first FO, a beanie. on: May 30, 2006 09:45:24 PM
I can't believe it, I've finished my first real knitted item (as opposed to simple ipod socks). I had a friend teach me to use dpn's then set about making a beanie for to keep my bald head warm this winter. It only took me a couple of days to make & I even managed to fix my stuff-ups (instead of frogging & starting over every time). I'm already a third of the way through my next one.

excuse the dodgy pic.
7  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / What do we want? Brains! When do we want it? BRAINS!! on: April 13, 2006 12:00:22 AM
Calling all zombies. Sydney is having a zombie Lurch.

Sounds like a good chance to whip up some fake blood & groan alot. Be there or be....living.
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Poseable crochet on: April 08, 2006 04:20:53 AM
Does anyone have any tips on making crochet toys poseable? Smiley

I'm making my friend a monkey for her birthday & want to make the tail & maybe the limbs poseable. I figure pipe cleaners are a good bet but am wondering if I need to anchor them somehow.

Any advice would be great.
9  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Kool Aid available here on: April 07, 2006 02:14:53 AM
For fellow Aussie crafters looking for Kool Aid for dying yarn (or poisoning masses of people) it is available through this website   http://www.usafoods.com.au/
They have a shop in Melbourne & the Kool aid ain't too exy (unlike the cereal, doh).
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Butt/Smokers swap on: March 15, 2006 08:22:43 PM
I saw this thread about smoking/swapping
& it got me thinking about a smokers' swap.

I'm thinking crafted smoking accessories & cigarette/tobacco themed items like a nifty tobacco pouch/smoke case. Would have to find someone to organise though.
