11  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery - January 2007, Happy New Year! in The Swap Gallery by sneeg on: January 26, 2007 07:23:59 PM
Stifflersmom and I did a personal swap which arrives just before Christmas, so I think we've both been distracted from posting.  It was great!  I sent her some knitted mittens.  The first picture shows the color, the second shows the cabling:

And she sent me a great swap journal (just what I needed) with a bunch of other goodies (a gardening journal, a cute pendant, and some awesome anatomy stickers):

Here is the fantastic package I recieved from dragonslair:

First, some giant bibs for Turing.  I hate how all the bibs are like 3 inches big and I need some that are 10 inches big.  These are perfect (and I hear Duncan helped !)

Then a cute book with the letters of Turing's name cross stitched and an animal for each letter.  It's a page turner!

And a super cute scarf for mom.  And given the cold front that has been here for the last week, every layer is appreciated.

Thanks, dragonslair!

13  Belts! in The Swap Gallery by sneeg on: October 24, 2006 07:47:10 PM
I recieved a wondeful package from ZombieFlesh a while ago while I had visitors, then I travelled, and now I am finally getting around to posting pics.  I hope this delay doesn't come across as me being unappreciative, because the package rocked and I have been wearing the belts every day since I received them!

She sent a fun punkish gromitted belt that she found, the extra fabric (which is directly off my wist - awesome!), a bunch of hot chocolates to try (given that it snowed here last week, they'll be gone soon), a really sweet note, and a GIANT fruit and nut chocolate bar.  I will not tell how quickly it was consumed, but lets just categorize it as ridiculously fast.  Even my mother, who only eats dark chocolate, kept sneaking pieces.

And the belt she made!  It is perfect, even though I had no idea what I actually wanted.  Thanks for reading my mind, ZombieFlesh!

14  Re: Verb Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by sneeg on: October 08, 2006 07:48:17 PM
i have received from la_crystalle!  an exceptionally thoughtful, generous, and awesome package.  my verb was 'discover' and she sent me . . .

first things first - a super fun address label!

A journal to jot down discoveries (with incredible bugs on it.  just amazing)
a felt rocket toy (see below for more love)
some incredible candy that everyone in my house loved
a picture frame with some info about all those new species that were just discovered and fish on the frame - it is going in my son's room for sure.

A really cool hipster bag!  perfect for wearing with skirts and a child that requires 3 hands to keep track of.  It can be worn in a bunch of different ways and i think i've settled on how i'll wear it most of the time which doesn't use the rings she included, which is good (see below).

and it has this really neat collection of charms on it with a star and a fish and flower and a shell!

she also embroidered a shirt for me which fits great and is really fun.  she was really worried about it, but i think it is great (the back has some stars and planets)

Rocket in action!

but always remember that kids love the non-toys best.  the rings for the hipster are his current favorite thing!

15  Neuro/micro shirts in The Swap Gallery by sneeg on: October 08, 2006 07:15:50 PM
a little PM told me that frogz has received her shirts (after the post office tried to thwart us), so i will post my pics of them.

she's a neuro/micro student, so i had to do a petri dish.  had to:

and her sig-o is a computer geek, so i had to make some neurons connected to a circuit board.  for both of them.  had to:

sorry about the white shirt, frogz, i really need to stop shopping with my son in tow because i keep messing up sizes and things . . .

16  Re: Fall/Harvest Sweat shoppe swap gallery of the Fall bounty! in The Swap Gallery by sneeg on: October 08, 2006 07:08:42 PM
I went out of town for the weekend and here is all the loot that  accumulated during my brief trip!  Wow!  The quality and awesomeness in this swap is amazing!

From the upper left:
Crochet pot (iamsusie) - with candy corn, and my son loves the pot.
pumpkin (modus operandi) - see below for love
wallet (alwaysinmyroom) - perfect fit for my wallet items and still fits in my back pocket and fantastic fabrics
greeting cards (cornflakeygirl) - super fun.  i've already got plans for two of them . . .
Embroidered Fall Felt Envelopes (iamsusie) - super cute.  probably a little too delicate for the love of a 1-year-old, but perfect for next year.
scary tree pendants and earrings. (atsuko) - i really love the design.
crochet earrings (alwaysinmyroom) - 2 pair and a bonus beaded pair!  hot!

17  whiteboards! in The Swap Gallery by sneeg on: September 18, 2006 12:36:50 PM
Last week was a happy mailbox week - I also recieved some whiteboards for my fridge from minkeyfeet!  I added some magnets on the back.  They are so we can keep a list of the potential meals in the house so when we're hungry we can just pick something instead of having to think of something - that's hard when we're hungry.

The one on the right has a week calander at the top.  The one on the left says "what's for dinner" at the top, which is awesome because that is the tagline for my husband's blog.  Ha!  I love the papers she chose, they're fantastic and exactly what we need.  Thanks minkeyfeet, I hope your legwarmers get there soon!

18  Pirate shirts! in The Swap Gallery by sneeg on: September 17, 2006 07:47:07 PM
piratecore sent me these AWESOME pirate shirts for my son.  they are just a touch too big, but he'll grow into them soon enough!  the first is my hands-down favorite - a stencil (?) of a pirate ship and, written below it, "R is for Pirate".  the second has a patch that says "pirate bones".  Action shots!

see?  we both think they're AWESOME!  thank you!!

19  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap 13! in The Swap Gallery by sneeg on: September 13, 2006 06:34:04 PM
i recieved some rockin' stitch markers from animegirlie.  per usual, my photography skill sucks, so you'll just have to believe that there are space ships on the right side ones and little gear-like bits ones on the left side ones.

and they promptly went into the knitting supply pouch from avsceriline!

I have recieved from frogz!  They're awesome and fit perfectly.  My picture taking skills, however, are lacking . . .

First, is an evolution shirt.  It combines biological evolution and computing evolution:

Second, and my favorite, is a skeletal hand holding a calculator with phi on it.  Hot!

thankyouthankyou frogz!
