I love that...  I have one of those that I was trying to figure out what to do with.  Thanks for the idea!
22  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: my wedding do over . . . ideas on: June 26, 2008 10:01:53 AM
So my DH and i have been married just shy of 3 years. but unfortunately my wedding went so horribly wrong SOOOO many times in the span of 24 hours, the bad memories outweigh the good ones. sad i know and i really should let go but after dreaming about something my entire life i really did want closer to perfect than what i got.  my DH and i are planning a special trip to niagra falls for our 5th wedding aniversary and have decided to renew our vows while we are there. a sort of 'elopement' (is that even a word?) which is what we should have done in the first place. very low stress but i still want to do some of teh tradtional wedding type things. obviously we wouldn't do invitations but i thought of a sort of announcement with a picture of us after our second ceremony to be sent out after we get back. does that sound dorky?
I found this incredibly amusing, because I am doing the same thing for the opposite reason.  lol  We are also renewing our vows on our fifth anniversary (9-11-2010) but we're doing it because we had a very spur of the moment wedding, and we want the "big" wedding.  Which will still be pretty small, because we don't have any friends.  lol  We never got a honeymoon, so we'll be taking that then, too.

Anywho, I think it's a great idea.  And by the way, empire waists are wonderful for hiding midsection bulge...  I know this. Grin

That's beautiful, and a sunhat from that fabric would be perfect with it.

The pics of your daughter bring back memories of my youngest daughter, who was bald until she was 3.  It was so bad that I wouldn't cut her hair for 3 years after that.  lol  It was down to her butt before I let her cut it.  *sigh*  lol

Those are great!  That's a really good skill to have, I may have to look into learning it.  Are they made like friendship bracelets, with tons of small knots, or are they actually plaited?

So yeah...  I made some, and I have no idea where to put them.  So here you go.  lol

I was going to put them in jewelry and trinkets, but I figured it would be mostly knitters using them, so...

I've been eyeing mother's rings for years, but I really like that, and I could do it myself.  I love it, you did a great job!
