Word on the street is Target is now selling candy cane shot glasses in the dollar bin section.

oh, msmeow, that broke my heart.  I was going to make them for my brother in law.  Unfortunately, he works at Target, so if he wants them, he's got them.  Oh, pooh. Smiley

I am sending in extra classroom supplies that I bought before school when everything was on sale, and I'll probably add some needhams, chocolate covered (homemade) marshmallows, and hot cocoa mix, since I need to make up metric buttloads of each anyway. Wink  I figure the more I send in for the class, the less she has to buy out of her own pocket.  By January, the classroom budget is pretty well extinct, and the teachers have to pay for stuff or go without.  I may also add a photo ornament (Wal-Mart, $1.50 or $3 for a pretty metal one)of the child.
1003  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Spice up a boring stocking on: December 19, 2005 05:54:19 AM
Last year, my kids and I made new felt stockings (we make new stockings every year, but usually they're fleece). For my oldest son, I cut some characters out of a scrap of Pokemon fabric and he fabric glued them on.  My girls used snow themed felt stickers on theirs, and I decorated the baby's.  Everyone had a different color band around the top in their favorite color so that I could tell whose was whose.  This year, we're breaking my much-loved tradition(  Cry  ) because all of them want to use last year's stockings.  Sigh.

What about a nose warmer?  The pattern is on knitty.com - it looked easy.

Myself, I'd just do a few batches of cookies or candy or something.  Some of the recipes you can find are pretty much foolproof.

Well, last year I made felt stockings for my four kids - they hung up fine, but as I tend to overload stockings, they got put on the couch for them to find.

This year, we're doing fleece stockings.  Tee hee.

1010  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: first completed project on: November 27, 2005 07:35:50 PM
That scarf is beautiful!  It looks a heck of a lot better than my first crochet project, which I am about to unravel so that iI can use the yarn to make something that looks good!  Tee hee.

I love the yarn you used.
