2  S Star tee. in Stenciling: Completed Projects by afrodite on: March 20, 2005 11:40:21 AM
i made this for one of the women i work for because she is a superstar and her name starts with S. the star, i'm happy with. it's done with screenprinting ink. the "S"? not so much. i will never use acrylic paint and fabric medium again. it bleeds, even with a freezer paper stencil, and the consistency is not smooth enough.

so ultimately, this shirt will be redone.

but i thought y'all might like having a looksee:

4  TUTORIAL: rhinestone heart pendant. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by afrodite on: March 13, 2005 12:31:24 AM
my friend Amy and i walked into a store in Napa called Wildcat about a month ago. there were these rhinestone heart pendants on ball chains that we thought were hot. they wanted $68 for one. HAW!

so with materials i already had (aluminum foil, polymer clay, micro glitter and rhinestones), i started this:

i need a gooseneck lamp and a tripod.

i tried to give you an idea of the full extent of the bling.

i'm going to finish the sides tomorrow.

5  my old jeans have new life as a shoulderbag. in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by afrodite on: February 11, 2005 03:08:04 PM
i cut out a bunch of 8.5 x 8.5 " squares and then sewed two across and three down in alternating shades of denim. i made a lining and a flap, stitched the back pockets of a pair of jeans to the flap, attached the waistband of an old jean jacket as a strap, shoved all of my stuff in (three books, DVDs, makeup, meds, wallet, keys, cellphone, digital camera) and split.

i liked the way it looked on the flatbed of this pickup.

10  Star Wraparound Skirt. in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by afrodite on: June 12, 2004 07:21:09 PM
i decided to finish my first wrap skirt today.
(my mirror is dirty, and so are your thoughts.)

the front.

the left.

the right side. after much tugging and readjusting, i remembered that i have a black girl's booty, which means that the back of the skirt is just going to appear longer than the front, unless i compensate for said rise in back and alter the pattern (which i will in the future. not now.)
