1  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Project Runway 5 (beg 7/16) on: July 17, 2008 08:04:21 AM
i didn't kind of want the garbage bag lady to get kicked off- i REALLY wanted it. seriously, it looked like she just looped it around, there was no fitting or altering of it. At least the serial killer/shower curtain look looked like some work went into it. and it couldn't even be argued that it's a matter of a lack of taste on his part that did it, because hers wasn't any more tasteful.
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Fair Foods on: June 22, 2008 09:37:45 PM
DEEP FRIED COKE! i havent tried it but i know how they do it- i read about it. if i recall correctly, its basically like fritters or donut type deep fried batter soaked in coke syrup.

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Would you knit this? (or wear it ?) on: June 16, 2008 10:23:54 AM
britnlind i think you totally nailed it- it would be the perfect thing to toss on over a tshirt when spending time in highly air conditioned places like the movie theater during the summer time. id like something like this, its a little younger and more fashionable than a shawl, but serves the same function. i think i may knit one up for myself...

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Kentucky Derby Hat on: April 19, 2008 06:41:49 PM
if you wanted bees, you could make the crown of the hat a beehive, and have a swarm of little bees on wires circling the hat in place of the brim... ORRRRR wear no hat, do your hair in a beehive hairdo and make a huge brim with bees that attatches right to your hair. like a visor that circles the head.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Resizing a t-shirt without messing up the logo? on: March 23, 2008 09:00:04 PM
ive take in a lot of shirts for my boyfriend by just turning it inside out, and sewing parallel to the edges of the shirt up the length of the body, reinforcing at the armpit a little, then continuing on sewing parallel to the edge of the sleeve. if you do that, be sure to snip the fabric of the seam allowance at the arm pit so it doesnt look bunchy. that might work for you, but it being so big, you may have trouble with the shoulder overhanging your real shoulder quite a bit. that might not be a problem for you, i dont know. also, is the shirt ultra long on you? if it is, it could be ruched on the sides a little to take the length up some and that wouldnt sacrifice the logo too much. just some thoughts. good luck.
