1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Questions about some of my knitting failures on: December 27, 2017 08:45:47 PM
Youve made a great start with loom knitting, so dont look at your first few projects as failures!  I heard this at a friends house and always repeat it to my little girl Remember, sucking at something is the first step at being sort of good at something!

For the holey issue, if those are Knifty Knitter type looms (or Boye or Loops & Threads brand) youll need something thicker than worsted weight yarn, if you dont want to double strand your worsted weight, youll have to purchase yarn that is a number 5 or 6, something that is bulky weight.  Watch your tension, a neat trick Ive picked up along the way is to take the guts out of an old pen that doesnt work anymore, and feed the yarn through it, hold the pen to guide the yarn around the pegs when e-wrapping them.

Your scarf is curling because youre only doing the knit stitch (e-wrap.)  To get it to lay flat, you would have to do purl stitches as well.  I would recommend alternating knit and purl rows, which is called a garter stitch.  Loomahat on YouTube is a great resource, as is GoodKnitKisses.
Tuteate is probably my favourite loom knitting YouTuber though!

You will be able to make so many wonderful items with your looms, just be patient and kind with yourself!  Take notes of patterns you try and take pictures so you can see how you progress!

Those crowns are awesome!  I love the colours, and the fact that they are reusable makes them ultra cool!

4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Post Photos of Your Tattoos! on: March 28, 2008 10:00:22 AM
Wow, I'm loving this thread, everybody has some great work.  I still need to get pictures of mine to post, they aren't very good though.  If it counts, I have a honey do list about a mile long for my fella who is a piercer/tattoo artist, for after the baby is born and is finished nursing.

Congratulations Sweets!  Seems like everybody is expecting now.
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: What do YOU want for Valentine's Day? on: February 20, 2008 09:31:38 AM
I'm super happy too!  I feel bad that I didn't make him a card though lol.  I think I may just make him one for the hell of it though, not for anything specific.

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: What do YOU want for Valentine's Day? on: February 15, 2008 10:03:06 AM
I got a card!!!  When he got home from work last night I was cooking his dinner and he handed me a small envelope, inside was a card he had made with a rose and a really cool tribal-ish heart, I of course started crying lol it was the sweetest thing, my very first Valentine.

I didn't get my Ugly Betty reminder though, he was busy doing a piercing lol
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: What do YOU want for Valentine's Day? on: February 14, 2008 01:18:25 PM
"It's a Hallmark holiday..  Why do I need one day of the year to tell the person I'm with that I love them...blah blah blah"  I think all his exes were very unappreciative of him and what he did for them so he swore off Valentine's Day all together, which totally sucks for me.  I've never gotten flowers from him or any other boyfriend ever, and I know that I wont, I just try to accept it, because if I think too much on it I get bitter and angry lol

I am thankful for the Ugly Betty reminders though, pregnancy seems to make my non-existant memory even worse.
