11  UNITED STATES / Montana / arriving soon! on: July 22, 2007 09:31:17 PM
okay, so we are moving out shortly (2 weeks) and gettting very excited.  We got rid of lots of stuff and heading to Missoula for my hubby to attend law school and for me to devleop my crafting business on land and on the web.  I am wondering if there would be interest out there for a local hip craft show. I have experience in "event" planning and would be interested in organzing one if there are enough people wanting to participate. Perhaps a Christmas show after turkey day?  I am also considering a small store front space or sharing something that can function as a studio and selling space... any ideas?  lots of questions....

any help/leads would be appreciated.  I think for some of this stuff it will be better and easier to do once we are there. okay, tired, finished sewing 40 skirts, and heading to bed.

12  UNITED STATES / Wisconsin / Summer Craft Shows on: April 09, 2007 02:51:57 PM
I recently got back from an extended trip to NZ and am thinking about doing my REcreate Designs business full time this summer. I am hoping to get a few leads on some "cool" craft shows that are more hip the homey. I know about the Art vs Craft and the Clement Ave School shows... any other ones out there yet?  Looking into being a "street vendor" at the Madison Farmers market.  Any help would be appreciated  Smiley

It is good to be back and creating, well after I unpack everything and set up the studio again.

13  Wisconsin / Wisconsin: Southeast / Madison Farmers Market on: February 05, 2007 05:24:37 PM

I am still traveling in NZ and planning on being back in Madison in early April.  I wanted to look into applying for a vendor permit, but don't know what website I should check.  Any help?  Is there a webpage or resource that has info on details ( insurance, fees, permits, etc?)

Hope all the winter craft fairs have been good.... missing making stuff Sad

14  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / NEW ZEALAND / book making supplies on: December 01, 2006 08:57:14 PM

i am doing a bit of travel and working around NZ and am looking for some book making supplies, specifically aluminum screw posts to make a guest sign in book for the guest house I am wwoofing at.  In America they sell them at hardware stores and craft shops.  They are a double sided screw that would hold a stack of paper and the cover together. Any ideas where I could find this or if it is called something else?

15  Wisconsin / Wisconsin: Southeast / Moving and must get rid of stuff! on: July 22, 2006 07:12:01 AM
I have way to much stuff!  I have the following items to give away or if you would like to make a small donation for them that would be greatly appreciated:

Martha Cart (great storage shelfs, space to hang paper, on wheels ($5)

Science lab cabinet and work surface ($10)

Door that I converted to 2 hanging closet rod/shelves

lots of wood bins (old fruit crates)

metal cabinet on wheels ($5)

odd stuff

Ikea Wood Desk ($20)

I will not have email access after this, so if you are interestesd, please call 310-8680. I live on the east side of Madison (cottage Grove Road/Acewood Blvd). I will be around today (but moving stuff) and tomorrow.  Things will go to good will if they do not find a home before Tuesday.  thanks!

16  UNITED STATES / Montana / Moving to Montana? on: May 19, 2006 12:01:19 PM

I am thinking about moving to Montanta, Missoula, in a year or so after returning from a long awaited 9 months in NZ. My boyfriend is applying for law school and I am checking out different cities that he is considering moving to. I do a lot of art/craft stuff from recycled materials (rummage, junk, thrift store, odd crap, etc). Are there places in Missoula that sell "junk" both building supply type stuff and clothing, material, odd stuff.  Here in Madison, W there are so many places that I will miss. My favorite is a St Vinny that sells clothing and goods by the pound! There is also a store through the university that sells stuff from old computers, chemistry stuff, office supplies, chairs, cabinets, just about any kind of crap you could possibly need. Missoula seems like a pretty hip town, so I am not to worried abou selling stuff, but I want to see if there  are good supply resources.

17  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / NEW ZEALAND / Yankee coming to work/play on: May 09, 2006 12:13:12 PM

I have a holiday work visa in hand and will be departing for NZ in September. Back here in WI I have a small business called REcreate Designs: I basically make stuff out of junk. I am hoping to make some things while in NZ and maybe sell them at markets/fairs. Is there a website/listing of art/craft fairs that happen in NZ?  I have been to the Christchurch market before, but this one might be a few steps out of my league. Looking forward to the 9 month visit!  I think I will be living in Wellington and/or Nelson.

18  UNITED STATES / Wisconsin / Wisconsin/Midwest art & craft fairs? on: March 19, 2006 08:24:34 AM
I am interested in participating in more art/craft fairs this spring and summer and don't know where to start looking for information. I don't want to sell my recreated stuff at fairs where old ladies are selling barbie doll crochet kleenex box covers. Anyone out there that can give a girl some advice? I make stuff out of recyceled junk and am working to save money to move to NZ for a year. HELP!
