Is anyone still knitting this?

72  Re: Circular Shrug / Vest - Scale Model - TUTORIAL in Knitting: Completed Projects by loisgriffinwannabe on: January 14, 2006 12:13:52 AM
I finished mine tonight... this took me soooo long because of other projects meanwhile...

I used purple worsted weight yarn out of a bargin bin at lewiscraft (100% unknown fibres, but was actually pretty soft!), which is sold in lbs,(1lb for $7.00) not yards, so I have no idea how many yds it took... but it only cost me $4.66 to make!

I love this pattern!!!

This is LeSophie's version of Glampyre's Ubernatural. If it wasn't for LeSophie's explanations of the pattern, I would have been very lost. I also made the neckline smaller and made the sleeves 3/4 length. I used Lion Brand's Homespun. I used only 1 stand because I didn't want it to be too bulky.

Hi lumpui!

Great stuff!!! I love them all. You have contributed to Crafster!

Can you tell me what size needle you used for the Ubernatural? I love that yours looks lacy and want the same effect. I am inspired to use Homespun for the first time ever!  Cheesy

I'm almost done this sucker, but I can't remember how to post pictures.  Can anyone help this computer illiterate gal??

You can post pics through flickr.com, choose all sizes, copy and paste the url link between [ img ][ /img ].

Or you can use the craftster.org picture hosting and it leads you through all the steps to upload. Then click on back to main menu, click on the photo you just uloaded (it should appear in member galleries) and copy the UBBCode, paste into your message-[ img]https://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/43812harleysm.jpg[/img ] Will show up as

76  Does anyone have any idea how to knit this? in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by loisgriffinwannabe on: January 01, 2006 07:53:29 PM
Hi y'all

I have searched everwhere for this pattern, and I can't find it, so I could make it up... but I have no idea how to start! I want to make it all in one piece top down, because I hate seaming... but how does one do such a wide neckline top down? I don't care so much about the decorative holes at the stomach area, i will probably use another type of lace pattern... but the top part is making my brain hurt! Anyone have any help/ideas for this project? Thanks in advance!

77  Re: Fir... I wrote my first pattern... with pics! in Knitting: Completed Projects by loisgriffinwannabe on: December 29, 2005 11:34:22 PM
Thanks for all your comments Grin  I really appreciate them all  Kiss  Kiss Kiss

So I am writing the pattern as we speak, and trying to make lots of sizes for it, I am hoping it all works out, since this is the first one I have written. I haven't even out in the zipper yet! I am totally behind due to Xmas and other stuff Roll Eyes- I will post pattern soon, I promise!

A note:

Congratulations on your first pattern.  It turned out really nice.  I just have one thing about the back.  I'm a big-breasted girl as well and for me the back wouldn't look right with that much ribbing.  Maybe 2 inches would work better.  It's taking away the attention from the front.

Here is another pic of the back that might change your mind. Then again, maybe not.

Also, I made it with this much ribbing because I wanted it to be body hugging and sexy- I have enough baggy sweaters. I also wanted alot going on in this sweater (seed stitch, 4x2 Ribbing, cables), and that is why I did it in a white plain style yarn, so it wouldn't look too "busy". I wanted something nice I could wear on a date over my super long tanks and shirts that are so in style now...I am a tall girl, and I look really good with lots of ribbing due to a longer upper body. I did design this for myself, ya know Wink You could design a sweater with 2 inches of ribbing, but it would make it fall totally differently.

Nice work!  I really like the sweater and it looks great on you!  What type of yarn did you use?  I really like the sleeve length and total style of the sweater.  Congratulations on your first design!
hst

Thanks hst! I admire so much of the stuff you have posted *blush*. I used 4 skeins of Filtes King Van Dyck with (US13) 9mm needles. The sleeve length is 3/4 because I ran out of yarn, hahah  Embarrassed I am designing a long sleeve next! I promise!

Thanks everyone, for everything!

80  Cheap Wool Yarn @ Daiso in Aberdeen Centre!!! in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by loisgriffinwannabe on: December 22, 2005 11:02:33 PM
Hi y'all!

I went to Daiso in Richmond BC and got all this great cheap wool yarn! Look at this:

Charcoal grey, 100% wool chunky weight (3.5-4sts to 1") yarn! Woot! They have several different weights of yarn, and a pretty okay color selection. They have 100% acrylic and wool/acrylic blend too. And its all 2$ a skein, because everything in the store is 2 bucks! They also have bamboo needles and plastic ones that look like the Crystal Palace Daisy needles.

V. kewl!
