1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Old 7"....Record Bowls!!! on: October 14, 2006 09:37:27 PM
Making record bowls is super easy:

1. Preheat oven to... hot.
2. Get some records.
3. Try out different bases: pots, aluminum cans, anything that can go in the oven.
4. Put the base on a cookie sheet, set the record centered on it, and put in the oven!
5. It only takes like 20 seconds for the record to melt around the base and make the shape of a bowl.  Make sure you watch the oven the whole time to make sure nothing catches on fire.
6. Once you take the record out of the oven while it is still hot, you can shape it more if you want.
7. When it cools remove from base and there you go!

Make sense?

4  UNITED STATES / Virginia / Whats up in Richmond? on: May 31, 2006 08:44:10 AM
So, I decided I needed a vacation from the 757 for a while, but I could only make it to Richmond since I have to be back at work on Thursday. But... gimme some stuff to do!  I know there's bound to be some cool art stores and the like around here; I know I'm going to be hitting up chop suey and diversity thrift today Smiley   anybody have any good suggestions for some stuff I might be able to check out today or tomorrow?

I was thinking later, like evening sometime, but it doesn't really matter really to me.  As long as its past 1 or so.

The restaurant doesn't much matter to me either.  I've never eaten at any place in Ghent, but I have been inside sam's for their atm to take money to the naro Smiley  i say we go to the place that has a big cozy table for us to mingle at.

FunkySkunk, I definitely used your suggestion and put it into play.  I sowwy if you feel like I bucked on you  Wink

But, I suppose Norfolk/Ghent is probably a pretty central location.  So far we have 2 from the peninsula, 1 from va beach, and 1 from norfolk.

More people!

Hey everyone.  I live in Newport News, and I'm totally up for meeting.  So here's my initiative:

We'll meet at a restaurant in the evening to get to know each other.  Then we'll make plans from there for further meetings.
Either reply here or pm me and I'll post the responses, with where you live and how far you'd be willing to drive.

If there's not enough responses on here within a couple of days, then I'll PM this note to everyone that's replied to this topic thus far.

8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Posters on: January 04, 2006 10:53:18 PM
I work at a record store and we get sent a lot of posters that we dont hang up or hand out to people.  I, of course, don't want them thrown away so I bring them home.  But now I have about 50 random posters of various sizes, bands, and movies, and I'm not sure what to do with them.  I was going to sell them on ebay, but that would be such a hassle to sell them individually.  Any ideas?

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Fetus Navidad Ornament - w/ tutorial on: January 04, 2006 10:15:56 PM
