Ooo, that's cool, I like how you graduated the colors in the background.  Would be a nifty t-shirt.

Very cool design.  I've had problems with blotchiness in my stencils too.  (Haven't posted them yet)  I found I was using too much ink.  Maybe that affected yours too?
715  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: My cat in wool on: October 31, 2005 05:47:34 AM
but the real reason for this post is because I absolutely think your real cat, the one in your avatar, is ADORABLE.  He looks so vicious and determined on his scratching post, and well, just so cat-like.  Now I love a photo of a cute, curled up cat as much as the next guy but real cat lovers appreciate the times when they show their wild, unhinged side, like when they are high on catnip...haha.  I LOVE it, how he has his ears back like that.

Thanks, that's my favorite picture of him.  I think it's his superhero picture, I imagine a cape rippling off his shoulders.  I just can't figure out if the mouse is a snack or a sidekick, hmm...

I know how you feel being petless.  I was that way for six years of college and grad school- it's a bummer but you look forward to having your own even more that way.

Wow, maybe you should miss sleep more often.  You could have a whole insomniac business on your hands...
717  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: mushroom appliques from a vintage napkin on: October 29, 2005 01:38:25 PM
Your mushrooms came out beautiful, very groovy man.  I say stick them on any fabric you can find.  I agree with everyone about the bags, but they would also look good on throw pillows, mittens, hats...
718  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Needle Felting Books or Patterns on: October 29, 2005 01:33:28 PM
I got started in needle felting by buying a kit from black sheep designs- you should be able to google them.  The kit included wool, felting needles and instructions- 1 stop shopping.  There's always kits for sale on Ebay for teddy bears and such.  I've also gotten Ayala Talpia's book on needle felting.  You can buy it directly from her for $20 on her website

Thanks, that's one of the best needle felting tutorials I've seen on the web.  BTW: I have Ayala Talpia's book too.  Everyone should get one

You could have left it there and gone for the shibori effect...
