1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: projects from jess hutchison's booklet on: January 01, 2006 10:32:52 AM
Here is my Spherey! He is so sweet. I love all of the variations I am seeing here.  Jess' patterns are so fun and so well written.  I can't waitto make Kate, as that is my name and all...
Anyway, on to the pictures!

Lamb's Pride Worsted.

LPW is what Jess refers to it as through the whole booklet.
3  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Cowl n' Howl - just Cowl, thanks on: December 07, 2005 12:41:24 PM

This post couldn't have come at a better time!  I've been planning on making this sweater ever since I got the book, and I've had the yarn sitting in my stash for it for ages.  In the meantime, I had a bulky knit go wrong and started thinking twice about knitting patterns that look great in the book, but not on fatter figures like mine.  While I was finally swatching for this project last week, I almost just gave up on the idea because I was convinced that a garter stitch sweater would make me look enormous.  Then came your post, and I'm happily halfway up one sleeve.  I will post it when I'm donoe!

Did you use duplicate stitch like they recommended or did you use fair isle or intarsia?
  Great job!

My Hourglass Sweater!

I used 11 balls of Noro Silk Garden #8 and size 5 needles (I knit loose Smiley)

Though I look like a linebacker, I still think this pattern's a winner!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Nubby Noro Mittens on: December 04, 2005 05:30:14 PM
After I completed a recent project using Noro, my husbeast requested some Noro mittens.  Sigh.  What a good knitter's husband.

I used this pattern, which worked quite nicely.

So cheerful!
7  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Om Yoga Mat Bag on: October 23, 2005 04:19:35 PM
We're having an auction fundraiser for the non-profit I work for next month, and one of the packages we're auctioning off includes yoga classes and massage. We decided to include a yoga mat in the package, but since it wasn't in a box or anything, the presentation wasn't too hot. So I offered to make the Om Yoga Mat Bag from Stitch N Bitch Nation. I finished it last night and stopped by the office today (on a day off no less!) to make sure it fit nicely. Here 'tis:

Like a lot of other people have noted, this took a lot less than the 2 balls of Lion Cotton the pattern calls for--I have quite a bit of the one ball I used left. I even made it a little bit longer so it would come to the top of the mat, too. I did make the strap shorter, however. I'm pretty happy with it; I never would have made this for myself, but it was a fun quickie project. Thanks for looking!

I also finished mine!

I used Knitpicks Andean silk in Barn and used US 9 and US 5 needles. It's a little big, but the rainy Portland weather will probably felt it up!  I love this pattern!
